Cougs Can't Overcome Slow Start
IN Bothell White's first game of the season a sleepy first half and early second half turnover spelled doom for the Cougars. Bothell fell behind 6-0 early on long run that was the result of poor effort and sloppy tackling. LW scored again on the last play of the first half and the first play in the 3rd quarter to lead 18-0. Bothell scored twice in the 4th quarter to make it 13-18 and looked poised for a comeback when Locknane threw TD passes to Medjo and Curry. The comeback ended on an INT Hail Mary and LW taking a knee. A painful set of lessons and loss, but hopefully the team learns from its mistakes and finishes on a 10-0 run.

Cougars Overwhelm Bears

THE Cougars got their first victory against the Bears at Bothell High School Saturday. Jacob Stansberry scored on two runs and two catches and Bothell converted 3 of 4 PATs in a 27-0 win. The defense had interceptions by Sawyer Anderson and Jalen Percival, both had long returns. The defense also din't surrender a first down until late in the third.

The Bears couldn't match the Cougars speed and aggression, but the Cougars face the undefeated Mt. Si Wildcats in tough test next week.

Scoring Frenzy Ends in Defeat

THE Cougars offense was scored the first touchdown of the game two plays after recovering the opening onisde kick, but in a pattern that continued throughout the game Mt. Si responded with a quick score of their own.

BOTHELL scored the first four touchdowns that Mt. Si has given up all year, but simply couldn't stop the speed of the oppossing backs and strength of the line opening their holes. Chris Penna ran TDs in with several long runs after catch in his debut at H-back. Jacobs, Medjo and Stansberry and Drew Curry each had long receptions that conttributed to TDs with Ryder Locknane punching it twice. Shane Barringer kicked a PAT with no shoe...in some rain. The Bothell defense had some impressive plays, but will need to improve overall if the Sophs White team is going to make the playoffs.

Big Lead Crumbles Late

BOTHELL lead 20-0 early in the second quarter after a long pass to Jacob Medjo, a long fake punt run by Jacob Stansberry, and another short run by Stansberry. However a late INT lead to 6 points for the Spartans and Stansberry left the game with a concussion.

The second half started with a some nice plays and TD run by Ryder Locknane to extend the lead to 28-12. Skyline kept scoring including TD run with 3 minutes left and the Cougars failed to convert on several 4th and shorts and threw an INT to close the game with a 28-32 loss.
