Cosumnes River Little League: 2011-2012 Season Divisions
AGE: 10,11,12
The major division is for players who seek advanced instruction with exposure to a competitive environment. This division will interleague with Folsom National Little League on a weekly basis. All players must tryout for placement on MAJOR teams
AAA Baseball
AGE: 9,10,11
In this division players will be playing in an advanced baseball atmosphere while interleaguing with Folsom National Little League on a weekly basis. Rules will closely resemble the major division; however this is still considered a “minor” division. The goal at this level is for players abilities to improve to allow for progression into the major division. All players must tryout for placement on AAA teams.
T Ball
AGE: 4,5,6
The T-Ball division is designed as an introduction to the concepts and fundamentals of baseball. The goal at this level is to keep players interested by having fun in a safe manner. No score is kept. PLAYERS WILL USE TEE ONLY! NO COACH PITCHING! No tryouts at this division.
Senior Baseball
AGE: 15, 16
This division will offer a competitive level of play on the full size diamond. This division will play interleague games with teams from District 54.
Junior Baseball
AGE: 13,14
The junior division is a player’s introduction to play on the larger, full size baseball field. This division also prepares the players for High School level baseball. The junior division will play interleague games with teams from District 54. All players must tryout for placement on JUNIOR teams.
AA Baseball
AGE: 8,9,10
This division was created to accommodate the wide range of individual player skills and baseball experience that this age group creates. This is the players first introduction to real baseball. However, this is a developmental division. Players will be pitching the entire season. The AA division is great for players to develop their baseball confidence, which will help them greatly as they progress into the upper divisions. All players must tryout for placement on AA teams.
A Baseball
AGE: 7,8,9
This division utilizes a combination of coaches and players to pitch. The first half of the season coaches will pitch, second half of season players may pitch, based on league recommendations. Continued emphasis will be on fundamentals, as well as position play, pitching, catching and base running. No standings kept. All players must tryout for placement on A teams
Coast
This division is comprised of 6 and 7 year olds who have participated in at least one year of T-Ball. This division will utilize coaches to pitch to players from a knee at 35 feet, introducing players to live pitching for the first time. The emphasis will be to continue teaching the concepts and fundamentals of baseball. No score is kept. No tryouts at this division.
