INTERMEDIATE DIVISION BAT RULES

image_name2
       CLL Intermediate Division Bats Rules
I have gotten a couple of inquiries about bats this year so I wanted to reiterate the bat rules at Coronado Little League.  These rules are more restrictive than Little League rules because it is the feeling of the board that it is the best decision for play based on the size of Bradley Field.

The basic rule is Rule 1.01 in the Green Book with the following restrictions:

 1.  NO COMPOSITE BARREL BATS – NO EXCEPTIONS.

2.  Aluminum or Alloy bats are ALLOWED

(a) Bats MUST BE NO MORE THAN 2 ¼ INCH in DIAMETER

(b) The handle can be made of a composite material, but the barrel must be Aluminum or Alloy

  (c) There must be the “Approved for use in Little League” statement on the barrel.

3.  Wood Bats are ALLOWED:

(a)   Wood bats must be no longer than 34 inches and the barrel no larger than 2 5/8 inches.

Additional things of note for Intermediate:

NO STEEL CLEATS OR SPIKES, cleats must be the molded type like they have always been using in Little League.

And a little motherhood to close it out:

If you are in the market for a bat for the Intermediate Division

If your son is 11 or 12 – buy an aluminum bat:

Why? Cost.  You will get two years or more play out of it in LL baseball so they are worth the investment.

If your son is 13 – checkout or try a wood bat:

Thanks, and enjoy the season.  - Alex Fahrenthold (CLL President)
