NFCA announces 2009 Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All-Region Teams
A total of 161 athletes were honored Thursday by receiving a spot on the 2009 Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All-Region teams, released Thursday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The honorees represent 109 different high schools. For all-region consideration, a player must have played for an NFCA-member coach. The all-region selections were made by the 22-member NFCA High School All-American committee.
Leading the all-region selections were four schools with four members each. That group includes North Davidson High School (North Carolina), Pearland High School (Texas), Van High School (Texas) and Washburn Rural High School (Kansas).
The 2009 Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All-America team will be announced Monday, July 13 on the NFCA web site.
