Official Site of the Corona Angels: News: THIRD TIME'S A CHARM AS ANGELS QUALIFY FOR 18 GOLD NATIONALS

The Angels used tough losses in Lancaster and Stockton - and even the challenges of the
Boulder's Independence Day Tournament - to build upon.  In the end, the Angels punched a ticket
to 18 Gold Nationals, to be held in Oklahoma City's ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, August 3-10, 2008. 
The Angels will be one of only 64 teams in the nation to participate in this prestigious 18 Gold event.

As predicted, it was a "bumpy" road.  The Angels were one of nearly 100 teams battling for a
berth in the Lancaster Qualifier but slipped on Sunday, losing 2 games that would have earned
them a berth.  Then in the Stockton Qualifier the Angels faced a field of 80 teams scrambling
for a berth, but fell short of their goal.  The Angels had to refocus their objective while in Boulder,
primarily focusing on showcasing available athletes.  MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!  3 of the 6 available
Angels commited.  While in Boulder, upperclassmen used limited playing time to focus on execution
for the qualifier to come.  Despite having no college players, missing 4 upper classmen, and nursing
an injured senior, the Angels took second place out of 80 teams in the 2008 Louisville Slugger Independence Day Tournament (Boulder, CO).

Fast forward to today.  73 teams came to the Seattle Qualifier with the same goal as the Angels.
This time the Angels executed in the winner's bracket and punched their ticket to 18 Gold Nationals.

As an organization, the Corona Angels have much to be proud of.
EVERY TEAM IN THE ORGANIZATION IS QUALIFIED FOR ASA NATIONALS! 
Including 2 teams in the 18Gold division.
