Lisa May talks about their decision stating, "Their first priority was they wanted to go to school together. Being identical twins, they had been looking forward to playing together in college nearly their whole lives. Since I can remember, they have always talked about playing softball in college."
She continues, "Previously to SDSU, they were only looking at out of state colleges. They thought they wanted to 'go away' to school. But, after Coach Van Wyk's offer, the girls gave it much thought and prayer, and decided that they really wanted to stay close to home. We are a very close family, and SDSU has everything they wanted!"
After deciding they wanted to go to SDSU they called Coach Van Wyk over Thanksgiving weekend. The coach told the twins that they had "made her weekend and year."
Their mother concludes, "My husband and I are really excited that Kris and Kam are going to stay close to home and we'll be able to watch most of their games."
Kris and Kam are 2009 graduates and attend Santiago High School in Corona. Kristin and Kamerin have both had very successful careers. Kristin and Kamerin were both First Team All-Mountain View League selections for 2006 and 2007 seasons. Furthermore, their high school team won CIF Division 1 their freshman year, and lost in the semi-finals 1-0 last year, their sophomore year. The girls are in their second year playing for Marty Tyson's 18 Gold Corona Angels.
