Corona American Little League: Welcome

Congratulations to the Minor AA Mariners, Minor AAA Rangers and Major Dodgers who finished in first during the regular season. These teams will see if they can continue their success in the division double-elimination tournaments which will begin on Tuesday. The winner of the AAA, Major, and Junior division tournaments along with the Senior Division Mariners will advance to the District 72 Tournament of Champions which will begin on June 2nd and conclude on June 9th. Corona American Little League is looking for your expertise and leadership!

If you are interested in being on the election ballot to be on the Board of Directors for the 2012-2013 season, please send an e-mail to the president before June 7, 2012. The Board of Directors is elected by the general membership* on the day of our closing ceremonies.

All members of the league's Board of Directors serve as volunteers for the league. If you have experience with business, safety, accounting, computers, sales, or just enjoy baseball, your help, ideas and leadership are wanted. If you have questions about being on the Board of Directors, please contact the league president. A successful future for Corona American Little League may depend on you.

*The general membership is defined as all volunteers in good standing with the league.

All players league age 9* and above and who played in the Minor AAA Division or higher are eligible to be considered for an All-Star team. Corona American Little League will be submitting six (6) teams in five (5) different divisions with two (2) teams in the 9/10 year old All-Star Division. Being selected to an All-Star team is an honor and the commitment to the team should be taken seriously.

Try-outs for the 9/10 and 10/11 year old teams will be held on Friday June 15th at 6:00PM. This try-out will be similar to try-outs that were held back in January. There are no try-outs for the 11/12, Junior and Senior Division All-Star teams. Players for those teams are selected by the managers in the division.

If your child is selected to an All-Star team, you will need to provide documentation verifying the player's age and proof of residency. Proof of the player's age is done by providing a certified copy of the player's birth certificate. For California births, these can be obtained at the recorder's office in the county the player was born in. To meet the residency requirement, three (3) documents must be submitted and all documents must be dated between October 1, 2011 and February 1, 2012**. All documents submitted must have the name of one (1) of the parents that are listed on the validated birth certificate. There are 17 different categories that a valid document can be in. You must supply documents from three (3) different categories***.

You can have your documents verified at Mountain Gate Park on Saturday May 12th between 2:00PM and 5:00PM or on Saturday June 2nd between 11:00AM and 2:00PM. To be considered for an All-Star team, you must have your documents validated before try-outs or team selection on June 15th. Players who are on valid II(d) or IV(h) waivers do not need to go through the document validation process. If you have any questions, please contact the league president.

* League Age: A players league age is their age on April 30, 2012.
** Document Dates: A current valid driver's license is the only acceptable document that does not need to be dated between October 1, 2011 and February 1, 2012.
*** Document Categories: Driver's License, Voter Registration, School Records, Welfare/child care records, Federal records, State records, Local (municipal) records, Support payment records, Homeowner or tenant records, Utility Bills, Financial (loan, credit, investment, etc.) records, Insurance documents, Medical records, Military records, Internet, cable or satellite records, Vehicle records, and Employement records.

All individuals who would like to volunteer for Corona American Little League during the Spring 2012 season must submit a completed 2012 Volunteer Application form. A copy of a valid photo identification must accompany the application in order for it to be approved. All Board Members, managers, coaches, team moms, umpires and concession stand workers must submit the form to be allowed on the field.

For Field Conditions on Mountain Gate Park, please check with your managers and player agents as they will have the most current information on the field conditions. The hotline can be used as a resource, but the great volunteers we have will give it their best effort to get the fields playable. The field conditions hotline is (951) 736-2244 and is updated on weekdays after 3:00 PM or after 7:00 AM on weekends.
