The Connecticut Hornets are celebrating it's 10th year anniversay and would like to welcome you to our site! The CT Hornets organization strives to give young ladies the opportunity to experience competitive fastpitch softball at its highest level. At the same time, we seek to teach girls that respect,commitment,hard work and discipline can guide them to not only become better softball players and teammates, but also better people.

12/U
The team competed in the 12U, 14U Independence Day Tournament hosted by PA Softball Mechanicsburg, PA
The 12U team took First Place in the 12U Division. Congratulations Ladies !
The team was then assigned to the 14/U Silver championship bracket for elimination play. They then went 2-1 against 14/U teams and shut out the Tri State Thunder 14/U 3-0 and shut out the ETC Elite 14/U 8-0. In this bracket the team won its way to the consolation championship losing a tough game to the Sting Gold 14/U 6-4. Due to the team effort they won a second trophy in the 14U Silver Consolation Bracket.
Congrats girls on what was a fantastic weekend. Each and every player made contributions in this tournament. We are very proud of your efforts.

Cassidy Murphy caught all games in the tournament and was incredible handling the pitchers. Several umpires complimented on her great abilities!
Cassidy Murphy had a hot bat during the course of the entire weekend as well as a solid weekend by Amanda Kenny,Stephanie Leonardo.

14/U Castlevetro
The team competed in Meriden, CT
On Saturday the team went 1-1-1. The team scored 14 runs on the day while playing great defense. The pitching was once again solid with Francesca Zuppardi and Cassie Madigan providing strong performances on the mound. The coaches were very pleased with the teams performance as they played tougher opponents and feel this will help prepare them for Nationals. On Sunday the team lost a tough decision to the older Stratford Breakers 4-2.

Kaylee Normandy - Double
Team had 20 hits total on Saturday
Sam,Gabby,Jess and Miranda also had multiple hits. Francesca Zuppardi also added a nice line drive base hit.

14/U Justus
The team competed in Mechanicsburg, PA
Pool Play Record was 6-0.
Overall record was 7-1
The team scored 47 runs while only giving up 5 runs.
Awesome pitching by Alle Sabith & Meagan Halligan !!!! These two pitched three shut out games on Friday and two more shuts outs on Saturday, and one shut out on Sunday.
Despite not winning the championship in the Gold Bracket the team played awesome softball and showed that they are a top team amongst all competition.
Highlights -
Doubles - Halligan, Reshotnik, Pinard, Gavin, Vickerman (2), Fitzgerald, Coleman, Banks.
Triples - Sabith, Halligan.
Home Runs - Gavin
Team overall record 23-5
We had many compliments from coaches and umpires on the teams performance. Great Job ladies! Keep up the good work.

The team competed in Chambersburg PA.
The team battled through the tournament losing several close games. They played against both 16/U and 18/U teams. The team tied the 18/U Patriots team.
The team has an off weekend this coming weekend.

Sarah Wesley - 2 Doubles, 3 triples, and 1 Home Run
Maggie Caron - 2 Triples, 1 Home Run

The team competed in Meriden, CT.
The team competed hard this weekend and continued to make progress. The effort on behalf of the team has been great this season.

The team competed in Chambersburg, PA
The team WON the 18/U consolation playoff in the gold bracket!!! Great Job!!!!!! The team ended up with a 4-3-2 for the tournament
Again the team effort has been so amazing with this team with everyone making significant contributions!
I must compliment this team as once again I have had so many compliments from Umpires, Coaches, Tournament Officials and Parents as to how professional and well mannered this team is. You have been the model for who the Hornets are and we could not be prouder. Thanks so very much.
Note: This is the second trophy that this team has won for the organization

14U Justus placed 1st Overall by beating the CT Bombers in the Championship
The team went 1-1 on Saturday which was cut short due to weather. They went 4-0 on Sunday and defeated the CT. Bombers 3-0 in the Championship Game to claim the title.
The team was lead by strong pitching from Meagan Halligan & Alle Sabith, as well as great defensive play.

Casey Gavin "Grand Slam"
Pitching- Meagan Haligan & Alle Sabith were both very impressive on Sunday. Alle dominated in the Semi Final game propelling the team into the Championship. Meagan Halligan pitched the Championship dominating the CT Bombers limiting them to just 2 hits.

The 12U team competed in the Xtreme games NSA Tournament in Stratford, CT
The team went 2-1 on Saturday playing very well overall. The two victories were a combination of great pitching and defense.
The 12U tournament was canceled on Sunday due to rain. The team finished 4th in the 11 team field.

The team competed in CT Eliminators Tournament in Middletown. The team placed 6th overall.
Overall weekend record was 2-1. Unfortunately, Sunday was washed out due to rain.
During the three pool games the team turned it on in games 2 & 3 on Saturday winning both games. The offensive effort was great during these two games.

The team competed in the CT Bombers Tournament in Norwich.
On Saturday the team was undefeated and was declared the #2 seed overall.
The team lost a close game in the second round on Sunday. This was a great effort on behalf of this team! Great Job Players & Coaches.

The team competed in the rain shortened CT Eliminators Tournament in Middletown.
Unfortunately the team was limited to 3 pool games due to the rain. The team went 1-2 overall but played very well. The feed back is very positive with this team which is exciting seeing as this is a new team and certainly has great potential to continue having a great season. They placed 2nd overall on the first weekend of competition. Keep up the great work.
