Please note that ALL coaches for Columbus United are IMPACT certified. "IMPACT, an acronym for Increased Mastery and Professional Application of Coaching Theory, is a 4-hour course for the volunteer or beginning coach. Emphasis is on drill development, principals of learning skills, resources, and ethics."

Ashley Barr - 15U Winter & 15U Spring

Bowling Green High School, 2nd team All Northern Lakes League, 7 District Honors, 7 years Junior Olympic experience with Toledo VBC, All tournament team @ 2003 USA Junior Championships.
Co-Coached Toledo VBC 12-U, Bradford School Graduate with Dipolma in Graphic Design.
As a coach I bring to the table a broad sense of knowledge, experience, and passion for the game from all levels of play. The fundamentals are key to this game and as the individual and team progresses you are able to build on the skills and mental toughness. Goals will be set to motivate and challenge the girls to never give up and always strive for something greater. I will promote camaraderie of mutual trust and friendship among the girls to instill that bond on and off the court. I want the girls at the end of the season to not only take away their skills and knowledge for the sort, but a newfound passion and love for the game.

Caitlin Carl - 15U Winter and 15U Spring

Caitlin's volleyball career began in 7th grade and continued throughout high school playing as a defensive specialist. Her club volleyball experience began with North Columbus Volleyball Club where she played for two years before becoming a player for the first team offered by the newly formed Columbus United Volleyball Club. Caitlin continued to play for Columbus United until she graduated. As a member of the Columbus United Volleyball Club, Caitlin made three trips to the Davis Cup Tournament in Sacramento, California. Caitlin received several invitations to continue playing in college, but decided to concentrate on other obligations & pursue her educational opportunities.
In the spring of 2005, Caitlin returned to Columbus United Volleyball Club as a coach for the 13U team and in 2006 she coached the 14U Winter and Spring teams. In 2007, Caitlin coached the 14U Winter & Spring teams and the 15U Winter team as well. The 2008-2009 season will be Caitlins 4th year coaching for CUVC. She wil be coaching the 15U Winter & Spring teams.
Caitlin has a strong passion for volleyball and enjoys sharing her love of the game through coaching.

Caitlin graduated from Worthington Kilbourne in 2003 and recently completed her B.A. in Strategic Communications at The Ohio State University.

Participated in Volleyball, Basketball and Track and Field.
Playing Third year of Volleyball at Ohio Dominican University, Setter.
Honorable Mention All Conference Team.
Played Junior Olympics for 5 years for Stars N Spikes, Ottawa, OH.

Played volleyball since the 4th grade, attended high school and played for St. Francis DeSales High School.
Captain, received the Athletic Academic Honor Award.
Played four years of club volleyball for NCVC and COVBC.
Ohio Dominican University majoring in Theology and Psychology.
Selected to the All-AMC South Division Honorable Mention Team 2007.
Played in Ireland, Spring 2007.
Named tournament MVP and selected for All-Tournament Team multiple times this 2008 season.
Coached two years for Cap City VC.
Helped run the St. Matthews volleyball summer clinic for the past four years.
Plays on adult volleyball teams in Central Ohio.

Kayla Crozier - 14U Winter & 14U Spring

Graduated from Ridgewood High School, currently a Junior at Ohio Dominican University majoring in Early Childhood Education.
One year college Volleyball for ODU as a Libero; played in every match.
Three year varsity High school letter winner, 2 years as Captain, Setter, Libero.
Six year Junior Olympic Club Player, Libero and Setter.
Attended Elite Camp.
Played in the King Kamehameha Volleyball Classic in Hawaii for Walsh University.
Played in East Coast Volleyball Championships at Penn State twice, Champions Southern Junior Championships in Florida, AAU Junior Volleyball National City.
3rd team All Ohio Division lll, 1st team District 5, 1st Team Inter-Valley Conference and All Star, 1st Team All Tribuneland player.

Dana Giancaterino - Certified Trainer

New Albany Country Club, Athletic Division, Personal Trainer.
Dana is certified in the International Sports Science Association (ISSA) and in the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
Dana is certified in CPR and First Aid.
Dana is an Instructor at the Haugland Learning Center, specializing in serving the educational needs of children with autism.
Dana is a 2002 graduate of Licking Heights HS.
Dana will conduct weekly strength, conditioning, and jump training sessions with Columbus United players. We are very excited to offer her services to our players and very happy to have her with us for the 2008-2009 season!
