The City of Columbus is the Capital City of the great State of Ohio. Columbus is a diverse town of over a million people. Columbus is one of the fastest growing cities in America and has many attractions. Every July there is the largest fireworks display in the mid-west called " Red White & Boom ". Each year over 100,000 people come downtown to celebrate. Columbus is the home to the largest University in the Nation, Ohio State. The Ohio State Univ. has about 40,000 students and employs thousands. The east end of Columbus has DSCC which is one of the largest government instalations in America. The city if Columbus has close to 1,000 Fire Fighters and 1,800 Police Officers. Columbus is the 16th largest city in the United States. The city of Columbus offers many sports choices for the fan in everyone. Columbus has a passion for sports and the # 1 team in the land is the Ohio State football team. The Buckeyes football team has won 7 National Championsips and finished as a BCS team year after year. The home of the Buckeyes is the Horseshoe which holds 104,000 of your closest friends. Head Coach Jim Tressel is an icon in Columbus and is the talk of the town 12 months a year. The fans of Columbus also come out to support all of O.S.U. sports including Nationally ranked womens basketball as well as the new look mens basketball team led by Thad Matta. The Bucks have a well respected hockey and track and field program as well. As always, BEAT MICHIGAN !

Columbus is home to the NHL. The Bluejackets are in thier 8th season in the National Hockey League and have the best young players in the league. Led by superstar Rick Nash,2004 Rocket Richard winner, the team is as strong as ever. The Bluejackets play in the Nationwide Arena which is the anchor of the new look downtown called the Arena District. The team plays in front of 18,000 fans every home game and has been voted the # 1 stadium expierence in all of sports.

The Columbus Clippers are the AAA team for the Washington Nationals. The Clippers are in the international league and focus on family entertainment. They offer cheap ticket prices and the food is even less. The Clippers have the " DIME-A-DOG " night on a few Mondays thruout the season. Many of the Yankees broke ground in Columbus including Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Don Mattingly as well as many others. The Clippers will be moving to the arena district in 2008 to a brand new 50 million dollar stadium.

If soccer is your thing then we have the " Hardest working team in the league ". The Crew plays in the MSL which is the highest level of soccer in America. The men of yellow and gold play in the only soccer specific stadium in the nation in front of thousands of loyal fans.

The Columbus Destroyers play in the Arena Football League. They play in front of thousands of fans every home game at Nationwide Arena. The Destroyers are in thier fourth year as a franchise and are looking towards a playoff run.

The Memorial Tournament is a players favorite on the P.G.A. tour. This course is run by golf legend Jack Nicklaus and attracts the best golfers in the world. The Memorial is held the first week of June every summer and is the official kick-off to summer in Columbus.
