PIRATES 11  POLICE BULLDOGS 0

The Pirates (1-0) open their 2015 schedule with a 11-0 win over the Police Bulldogs at Briggs High School on Sunday morning. The game was moved to Briggs after the Hilliard Bradley coach failed to show up to unlock the field.  The offense banged out 17 hits in the opener.  Second baseman Ben Way led the way with four hits including three doubles and three RBI.  Aaron Korbar had three hits including his first home run of the year.  He drove in five runs.  Ron Allen, Charlie Wrightsel, Alan Varney and Caleb Wright all had two hits.

Kasey Nafzger, Caleb Wright and Justin Miller combined for the shutout.  The three Pirate pitchers combined for 13 K's and did not walk a batter.  They gave up five hits on the day.  The defense played errorless baseball.

The Pirates will take on the Tigers on Wednesday evening at Worthington Kilbourne High School.  The game will start at 6:30pm.
