The Columbus Pirates are a 25+ Wooden Bat Baseball team that are members of the Columbus Men's Senior Baseball League. (CMSBL)

PIRATES 6 ASTROS 1
The Pirates (2-0) defeat the Astros 6-1 on Wednesday night at Berliner Park in downtown Columbus. The Pirates added four insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to open up a 2-0 game at that point. Shaun Burchett tossed the complete game win. He helped himself with a two-run double in the sixth. Bryce Bednarczyk had a RBI single while Charlie Wrightsel had a RBI double in the inning.
The offense had nine hits. Burchett had two hits and 3 RBI. Wrightsel had two doubles while Bednarczyk drove in a pair.
The Pirates will be back in action when they take on the Steve Sports Barons on Sunday afternoon at Olentangy High School starting at 1pm.
