Columbus Fire Hockey: About Us

Winning Team 2003

2003 Columbus Fire Team

About our team...
Our team was started in 1993 when a few Columbus firefighters decided they wanted to try to play hockey at the brand new Chiller Ice rink in Dublin, Ohio. We now have a team of 20 firefighters who play year round in a local league as well as participate in various firefighter & public safety tournaments and charity events around North America.

In the 2005-2006 season we were once again involved in numerous events and activities in Central Ohio and throughout North America. We played Fall & Winter Session in our league games at the Chiller, participated in Firefighter Hockey Tournaments in Detroit, MI & Pittsburgh, PA. We held our 7th Annual Police vs. Fire Charity game with the Columbus Police Team at Nationwide Arena after the NHL Columbus Bluejackets Game.

This upcoming season we have even more planned. In addition to all the events from last season we are planning to organize and run our 4th Annual Firefighter Hockey Tournament here in Columbus. In the past it has been a huge success with 14 teams from all over the country traveling to Columbus to compete. We are also planning to play charity games against Cincinnati Fire and against the Junior B Blue Jackets. We will also be involved in the CD-101 FM's "Andyman-a-thon for the Kids” again this year.
