"PRIDE, DESIRE, TEAMWORK"
Welcome to Columbia Curve Adult Baseball Club. We are an 18 and over Baseball team that is comprised of collegiate, ex-collegiate, ex-professional, and some high school graduates and we are located in Columbia, TN. We serve and obey all NCAA, NAIA, and JUCO summer rules. The team was formed by Keith Essary in 2004. In 5 years of existance, the Curve have really proved themselves as one of the Top Rated teams in Adult/Semi-Pro Baseball. After going 5-25 in the first year the team has since posted a record of 34-25 in season 2 and ranked at #46th in the nation. In the 3rd season it was even better finishing with a regular season record of 44-22 and Nationally Ranked at #27.   To begin the 4th season the Curve were pre-season ranked at #17 and during the season was ranked as high as 9th place.  In years to come the Curve look to challenge all the great teams from all over the United States and in doing so hope to build a winning tradition here in Tennessee. The Goal of the Curve is to be one of the nations top 10 ranked teams but most importantly is to run a class A organization and earn the respect of teams, fans, sponsors, and any who love the game of baseball.

CHRIS STREET TO TAKE STEP TOWARD NEXT LEVEL!!!

April 22, 2008 - Harlingen, TX – The National Football League is preparing for their annual draft that takes place this weekend when many college athletes hope to take their talent to the next level. Same can be said for the 85 baseball players who attended the first ever nationwide tryout camp, held by United League Baseball, this past weekend in Southaven Mississippi.

There were 85 players from across the United States who attended the tryout camp, which was hosted at the Snowden Grove Sports Complex in Southaven, Mississippi. Saturday was spent evaluating players as they were put through a very demanding major league style workout that was followed by a 12 inning scrimmage, that gave United League Field Managers and General Managers an opportunity to rate each players’ ability. At days’ end, the number of participants was cut down from 85 to 36 with 12 of those pitchers and the remaining 24 in position players. Those 36 players were invited back to take part in the final decision making process that included another 6 inning scrimmage.

With evaluations made and brain trusts working diligently to make their decisions, the first round of the draft was officially underway. Finishing runner up in the 2007 United League Championship earned the Harlingen WhiteWings the 5th and 8th draft choices in rounds one and two respectively. After much deliberation and conversation, the Wings selected RHP Gerardo Castillo as their 5th overall draft choice. A native of Venezuela, Castillo currently resides in Roslindale Massachusetts which is a suburb of Boston. Pitching certainly was the focus for the Wings when they selected RHP Chris Streets in the second round 8th overall. Street resides in Shelbyville, Tennessee and is a graduate of Martin Methodist where he played four years of varsity baseball as a shortstop but gained the attention of Field Manager Al Gallagher when he asked to pitch during the tryout camp also.

“We are very pleased with our draft selections,” said WhiteWings’ Field Manager Al Gallagher. “Solid pitching is the key to winning at any level and we believe Gerardo (Castillo) and Chris (Street) have a great chance of making our club,” added Gallagher.

Castillo and Street have been invited to Spring Training and their quest to earn a spot on the roster begins Tuesday, May 6th when the WhiteWings officially begin preparing for the 2008 season.

CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS....WE WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK!!!
