AAU GIRLS BASKETBALL
AAU Girls Basketball

NO TEAM LEFT BEHIND!

That's what Jane Nichols, Arkansas AAU Girls Basketball Director, told her clubs last year at her 2010 coaches meeting. She is 100% CORRECT again this year! All teams need to do is participate in their District Qualifying Tournament to secure a spot in their respective Grade Division National Championship. The only remaining question then is for which Division did I qualify, Division I, Division II or Division III. Once again, they are ALL in the same place at the same time! Click here to see where your team will play in 2011.
Advancement criteria for our National Championships
The following schedule will apply to all District Qualifying Tournaments Division I District Qualifying Tournament
District Finish
National Championship
1st place
Division I
2nd place
Division I
3rd place
Division I or Division II (teams choice)
4th place
Division I or Division II (teams choice)

The remaining teams choose Division II or Division III *If the district tournament does not play out all the places, the remaining teams will be placed in a hat and drawn out to determine the teams finish. Division II District Qualifying Tournament
District Finish
National Championship
1st place Division II
2nd place Division II
3rd place Division II or Division III (teams choice)
4th place Division II or Division III (teams choice)

The remaining teams advance to Division III *If the district tournament does not play out all the places, the remaining teams will be placed in a hat and drawn out to determine the teams finish.

If you would like to petition to attend a different National Championship than what you qualified for please submit your request to specialrequestgirlsbball@aausports.org

Any club that finishes in the top four from the previous year's National Championship will receive an automatic bid to the next higher age group the following year.

If an automatic bid recipient qualifies from the 2010 District tournament advancement structure, the automatic bid may be used by the club to advance another team from their club in the same age/grade division. If the club does not use the automatic bid to advance another team from their club, the bid will revert to the District to be awarded to the next highest place team not otherwise qualified.
