Eagles season comes to an end.
The Colonial Forge High School Varsity Baseball Team ended their season with a 5-3 loss to host Albemarle High School in the opening round of the Commonwealth Tournament. Senior Matt Edwards got the start and pitched six innings, giving up five runs on six hits, while striking out two.Albemarle opened the scoring by getting a run in the bottom of the second inning on three hits. The Eagles answered with three runs in the top of the third inning. Jamie Flores delivered a one-out single. Kyle Boster then hit a single with two outs. Taylor Guinn followed with a double to score Flores. Matt Edwards followed with a single to score Boster and Guinn and give the Eagles a 3-1 lead. The score remained 3-1 until the bottom of the fifth inning, when Albemarle would score four runs on three hits, a walk, and an error. With the loss, the Eagles finished the season with a 9-12 record overall. |
