Eagles drop game to Stafford!!!
The Colonial Forge High School Varsity Baseball Team lost for the second time this year against Stafford High School by the score of 7-2. Senior Garrett Marin got the start and took the loss. For the game, the Eagles pitchers combined to give up seven runs on seven hits, while walking nine and hitting one batter.Stafford took the lead in the top of the second inning by scoring one run on two hits. The Eagles responded by scoring a run in the bottom of the first. Matt Edwards and Kyle Boster led off the inning with back to back singles and later advanced to second and third on Ethan Ferrick's sacrifice bunt. Albert Tejera then brought home Edwards on a sacrifice fly to tie the game. Stafford would score another run in the top of the fourth inning on a hit and three walks. They would add to their lead in the top of the fifth inning by scoring a run on a hit and another walk. The Eagles would score a run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Travis Ferrick led off the inning with a single. Taylor Guinn and Matt Edwards then hit back to back singles with one out to score Ferrick and make the score 3-2 going into the sixth inning. Stafford would then score four runs in the top of sixth inning on three hits and three walks. With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 4-8 in the Commonwealth District and 8-10 overall on the season. |
