Eagles drop game to Mountain View!!!
The Colonial Forge High School Varsity Baseball Team dropped their second game of the season to Mountain View High School by the score of 9-2.
Mountain View got on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning by scoring one run on one hit and a walk. The Eagles would tie the game up in the bottom of the first inning. Travis Ferrick led off the inning with a double and would come around to score on Taylor Guinn's one-out single.
Mountain View retook the lead in the top of the second inning by scoring one run on two hits and a hit batter for a 2-1 lead. In the top of the third innning, Mountain View would score another four runs on four hits and two errors for a 6-1 after three innings. Mountain View added another run in the top of the fourth inning on one hit and an error. The Eagles would score a run in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the lead to 7-2. Kevin Yarnell reached base on an error with one out. Jamie Flores then drew a walk. Garrett Marin then singled with two outs to score Yarnell.
Mountain View would add two more runs in the top of the fifth inning on two hits and an error.
With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 4-7 in the Commonwealth District and 8-9 overall on the season. The Eagles next game is scheduled for Tuesday at Brooke Point High School. Game time is set for 6:30PM.
