7th Annual Liz Santos Memorial Award
Karen Rudderow was awarded the Liz Santos Memorial Award at the Collingswood Varsity Sports Banquet in June 2005. Karen (better known as Kruddy) is the seventh recipient following Amy Pacella, Tara Hock, Liz Hart, Amy Boddorff, Jill De Tora and last years winner Monica Fleming, all very distinguished soccer alumni. Karen was a one of very few two year captains in the history of Collingswood girls soccer. Her work ethic postive attitude and leadership is unmatched. Thanks to the summer soccer league the "club" was able to start this award in the spring after Liz's untimely death in her honor and memory given to the senior soccer player who best exemplifies some of Liz's traits. As her mother said "All she wanted to do is play soccer." Those of you who knew her must never forget her.
Liz's # 12 jersey was retired at the start of the 1998 season.
