Michael Burrell
Varsity Boys Head Coach

Coach Burrell is in his first year as the boy's head soccer coach at Collins Hill High School. He spent his previous six years at Dacula high school as the head coach for the Falcons. He also served as head coach for the South Gwinnett Comets for three seasons before his tenure at Dacula High School. Before coming to Gwinnett County, Coach Burrell spent three years as the head coach for the Griffin Bears making it to the state playoffs his first two seasons. Coach Burrell is a graduate of Georgia Southern University (1997) where he also played college soccer. He earned his Bachelor’s in Science with an emphasis in Biology. He currently teaches Biology and Oceanography. Coach Burrell also earned his Masters in Secondary Science Education from Piedmont College. He has a wonderful wife, Jaclyn, and a beautiful son Jackson and daughter Kaitlyn Ann.

Roger Warner
JV Boys Head Coach 

Coach Warner returns to the Eagles' sidelines this year as the JV Boys Head Coach.  Previously, Coach Warner began his coaching career at Lithonia High School where for three years he coached the JV Girls soccer team.  While at Lithonia, he also assisted with the football program.  Since coming to CHHS eleven years ago, Coach Warner coached the JV Girls for 2 years (2000 & 2001) and in 2002 became the Varsity Girls coach and would continue in this role for the next 5 years.
        Coach Warner received his B.S. in Geology from Northwestern State University and his M.A. in Teaching Secondary Science from Piedmont College.  He is in his 11th year of teaching at CHHS.  Coach Warner is married and has two children.

Jeff Tinklepaugh
Varsity Girls Head Coach

Coach Tinklepaugh is starting his 7th season with Collins Hill soccer. This is his 3rd season directing the varsity girls program. Prior to coming to Collins Hill, he worked with the boy’s programs at Dacula and Central Gwinnett High Schools where he was a part of several runs through the playoffs, making it as far as the semi’s with Central Gwinnett. In addition to coaching high school soccer, Coach Tinklepaugh is the Academy Director for Dacula Soccer Club where he oversees the development of 150 players, 13 coaches and 16 teams U-9 thru U-12. He holds his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, USSF National Youth License and NSCAA High School Diploma.

He has led the CHHS girl’s program to the first round of the state playoffs for the past 2 seasons. Last season CHHS lost in the first round in a very close match to eventual state champions Parkview.

Coach Tinklepuagh has taught physical education at Walnut Grove Elementary since it opened in 1992 and has been in education for 28 years. He is married to Pat Tinklepaugh and has two daughters Courtney(23) and Aubrey(19).

Since his arrival at Collins Hill, he has had the opportunity to work with one talented group after another. We have established ourselves as region contender’s year in and year out on the varsity side. Our JV program has gone undefeated in 2007 and 2009, winning the inaugural 7-5A/ 8-5A tournament last season.

Rob Hutcheson 
JV Girls Head Coach

Rob Hutcheson returns for his ninth year of coaching at Collins Hill as the goalkeeper trainer. After playing goalkeeper on a region champion North Gwinnett team, Coach Hutcheson went on to play goalkeeper at Oglethorpe University. After graduation, he stayed on as Oglethorpe’s goalkeeper coach. He has evaluated goalkeepers for the Olympic Development Program and has run goalkeeping sessions for Oglethorpe’s soccer camps. Coach Hutcheson holds the NSCAA’s goalkeeper coach accreditation. Coach Hutcheson is co-chair of Collins Hill’s language arts department, was the 2008-2009 STAR teacher, and was the 2007-2008 CHHS Teacher of the Year. He believes that a goalkeeper with solid technique, judgment, and leadership skills can keep us in games against tough opponents.
