Truck, Trailer, tie wires, wire cutters, post digger, 60 watt bulbs, gloves, sledge hammer, 8 foot or taller step ladder, etc.

The trees are tentatively being delivered on Wednesday Nov 25th at Horizon Church @ 7:30am.  Once again, we will expect everyone to attend that can with both player and parent.  This day will be spent pulling the trees off the truck, unwrapping the 100 displayed trees,  trimming and tagging the trees accordingly, and then displaying and attaching the tree to the post that were installed prior.  Once again, wear old clothes and bring gloves.  This is mostly  labor intensive work .  It will be helpful if you bring something to cut string with, as we use string to attach the trees to the posts.

Finally, I wanted to send a brief description of how to run the tree farm.

-The trees will be organized in rows by height to make it easier to find the right tree for the customer.
-It is important to help the customers find their trees and explain that this is for a good cause.
-Once the customer finds a tree, you will need to have the tree cut from the post and brought to the table for trimming and wrapping.  Here we want adults only to run the chainsaw, used to cut the tree fresh and straight.  The customer should tell you where to cut and at this point you can trim to smaller branches if needed and at the customers request.
You will run the tree through the baler, which wraps netting around the tree.
-At this point you should try to sell a tree bag which is used under the tree while displayed and then pulled over it to discard and keep needles to a minimum.
-Next the customer needs to instruct you where and how they want you to attach the tree to their car.  Ask for permission and be careful not to scratch the roofs.  Hopefully they brought a blanket, but some people don't care.  Tie the tree down to the roof.  Adults need to inspect the job to make sure the tree is tied securely and won't blow off.
-You should try to sell stands and wreaths.
-Once the sale is done, you should replace the tree with one that is still wrapped up of the same size.
-Constantly walk the farm and pick up strings and make sure the trees are straight and trimmed if need be.

Some tips....
-BRING GLOVES  Tree sap is not easy to remove.
-Bring warm clothes - we will provide a drum and wood for you to light a fire and stay warm.  BE VERY CAUTIOUS AND CAREFUL.
-Bring something to cut string with
-Bring folding chairs
-Encourage the kids to do most of the work if not all.
-Engage the customers
-Bring food and or drink. Smores have been popular in the past...
