Divisional Championship (June 21 Meet) Info
The Tsunamis are looking forward to defending the Divisional Championship on Saturday, June 20 at the Huntsville Pool. All 6 teams in our Division will compete and all swimmers that have participated in a minimum of 2 swim meets are eligible. Also, please note that league rules only allow us to enter a swimmer in an event that he/she has obtained a legal time in during the season. (i.e. if they have DQ'ed in Breaststroke each meet, then we are not allowed to enter them in that event at Divisionals). Because of the number of teams competing we are only allowed to enter A Relays.
Divisionals is a very exciting meet, as points are scored through 6th place and medals are awarded for 1-8th place in individual events and relays and ribbons are awarded for 9th through 12th place in all events. In addition, it is each swimmer's last chance to qualify for Red, White, and Blue and/or Ponderosa.
There will be a concession stand and heat sheets will sell for appx. $2.00. Make sure that your swimmer is paying attention to the events that the ready bench is calling as we will not be able to hunt for swimmers. YOU are responsible for making sure that your kids are at the ready bench for their events. We will not call for kids specifically or have parents roaming around looking for kids when it's time for them to swim.
Parents, regardless of the ability level of your swimmer, we really want all our Tsunamis to participate in this meet!
All swimmers MUST check-in upon arrival. We will begin checking in Tsunami Swimmers at 7:00. The plan is to have our check-in at the gate closest to the building. Please look for Mrs. McGinnis to get checked in. All relay swimmers not checked in by 8:00 a.m. will be scratched from the relays! Tsunami warm-ups are as follows: 7:20-7:30 (10 and unders), 7:30-7:40 (11 and 12's and older). The meet is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am and the final relay should be done by 3:00 p.m.
Parents, remember if you would like to help by timing at the Divisional Meet, please let Jacky Pence or Leslie McGinnis know as soon as possible!
And finally, regarding Ponderosa and Red, White, and Blue Invitational Meets, once your swimmer has completed their last individual event, please turn in your entry fee (CHECK ONLY!) Leslie McGinnis before you leave to go home or you may drop your check off at 4600 Double Eagle, College Station, 77845 no later than 7:00 pm on Saturday night. (We must put together and email the entries to the Meet Directors on Saturday night!)
