Bentley College
Thank you for your interest in the Bentley baseball program. Our program competes in the Northeast -10 Conference as well as with several non-league opponents. Our coaching staff includes four Bentley athletics administrators that all have coached and played together for many years. The cohesiveness, loyalty and stability of our staff creates a special positive quality in our program.
Our league schedule consists of 30 games played over a period of six weeks starting in late March and concluding in the first week of May. We also play 26 non-league games that are played throughout the five week fall season, two ten day trips to Orlando, Florida, in late February and early March, and a couple of games before the start and end of our conference schedule. All league games are played with wooden bats and most of the non-league games will be played with aluminum. Our 56 game overall schedule is one of the most challenging schedules you will see in division II in the Northeast. The philosophy for our program is to learn the game of baseball by playing and to get better at the game by competing at the highest level.
Tryouts for our program are held in the first five days of the fall. We will select a fall team to continue to train with us over the next five weeks. We will typically carry a roster of 30 players for the fall with a final selection at the end of the fall, cutting our squad down to 24 players. We currently have six seniors on our roster that we will be looking to replace next year. We are currently in contact with over 400 prospective players interested in our school and program across the country that are candidates to replace these six seniors.
If Bentley is one of your top academic choices, please call the admissions department and schedule an interview and tour with one of the counselors. Please email our office (bdriscoll @bentley.edu) when this has been completed. Your academic information and meeting with the admissions department is critical for your acceptance into this institution. Due to our administrative responsibilities and high volume of candidates, itÂ’s extremely difficult to meet with each prospect. Coach Driscoll is our recruiting coordinator and will accept all profiles, resumes, videos and correspondence that you have to offer via email. Once received, all your information becomes part of our database. If you plan to apply, be accepted, and attend Bentley with the expectation of trying out, please email Coach Driscoll with this information as well. We will then contact you in regards to your medical profiles and clearinghouse information that need to be completed before you attend Bentley College and step on the field.
Thanks again for your interest and good luck with your senior year.
