Varsity Coach

Matthew Quick is in his 7th year of teaching/coaching.  He lives in Huntsville with his wife Trena, daughters Shelbi (18) and Sheridan (13).  Matthew and Trena have a son Skylar, who is a student baseball coach for SFA while in his junior year.  Coach Quick is in his second year of coaching at College Park High School where he currently coaches football and softball.  Prior to coming to CP, he served one  year at Shepherd High School where he was the Offensive Coordinator and Head Baseball Coach.  Coach Quick also worked at Huntsville High School for two years as an Assistant Varsity Football Coach and Assistant Varsity Baseball as well as the Head JV Baseball Coach.  Prior to Huntsville, he worked in Huntington for two years as Head Junior High Football Coach, Junior High Girls Basketball, 1st Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach then as the Defensive Coordinator, Freshman Boys Basketball, and 1st Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach.  Coach Quick is a graduate of Jacksonville High School (Jacksonville, Texas).  He then served in the United States Navy for three years.  He received his Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M Commerce in North East Texas and his teacher's training from Stephen F Austin State University.


Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach Barnett played volleyball and softball at Tomball High School.  during her senior season Coach Barnett helped pitch Tombal to the very first UIL State Softball Championship.  That year, she was also named All-State, All-Greater Houston and District MVP.  She was also selected to the Fastpitch All-American Team and nominated for the UIL All Century Team.

After high school Coach Barnett attended University of Texas as San Antonio, and competed in Division I softball as a pitcher.  She still holds the school ecords for career ERA and shutouts, 3rd in complete games and wins.  As well as holding top five spots for single season wins, ERA, starts, complete games and shut outs.  She has also earned second team All-Southland Conference pitcher two seasons.

Coach Barnett graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History.  She went on to University of Houston graduate school where she earned a Master of Education Curriculum and Instruction - Secondary Education.
