This is a great opportunity for Riley. He will be able to work with top coaches in the US, play competitive ball against outstanding competition and travel to Puerto Rico during Spring Break 2008. Coast to Coast baseball has taken nearly 1500 players from all over the US to compete in Puerto Rico, Australia, Europe and Hawaii for the past nine years. Currently, alumni play at every level of college baseball and even professionally. You can check it out at http://www.coasttocoastathletics.com and even watch a video at the Puerto Rico section.
Riley is very honored to be selected from the thousands of players who tried out. He will be playing in the 11-12 year old age group in Puerto Rico. It is an expensive program so Riley is collecting returnable bottles and cans locally to help with the costs. If you would like to donate, contact Riley at Coleman Middle School or call his parents at 465-1098 and they will come collect the cans and bottles. Saturday, April 21 Places to practice Practicing at the Elementary Playground It has been brought to our attention that CCN is putting in a new playground for the pre-primary program. The area that will be taken is nearest the Middle School and the backstop there will be removed on April 20. The School District is constructing two new backstops. The backstop nearest the Elementary school will remain in place. The new backstops are going to be placed in the area West of the elementary school, by where the buses are stored and on the south side of the Middle School. Another area for practice is behind D and E-Field, where the major and minor boys play. Wednesday, February 15 CYAA Announces New Family Fee Both CYAA boards have agreed to set the family fee limit at $70 for both divisions in 2006. So if you have two boys in minors and one girl in majors, you will pay $70 this year instead of $105 like last year. This will lesson the financial burden on families and may result in more children able to play. |
