2011 Stearns County Classic Writeup
Stearns Cty Classic
ST. MARTIN — Milroy beat Sobieski 2-1 in the championship game of the Stearns County Classic.
Also at St. Martin, the Granite City Grays beat St. Martin 11-0 in five innings. Left-hander Adam Johnson got the complete-game win, allowing two hits. He struck out 10 and walked three. Johnson was 2-for-3 with a walk and four runs scored.
Brace Hemmelgarn was 2-for-4 with three RBI and Brett Hemmelgarn and Josh Boom each added two hits for the Grays.
On Sunday at Lake Henry, the Cold Spring Rockies beat Raymond 7-6 and Lake Henry downed the Midway Snurdbirds 3-2. Midway is the defending state champion.
On Saturday at Lake Henry, Milroy beat Midway 6-4, Midway defeated the Cold Spring Rockies 6-5 and then the Snurdbirds beat Lake Henry 11-1.
On Saturday at St. Martin, the Martins beat Raymond 2-0, then lost 1-0 to Sobieski. The Grays beat Raymond 6-4 and Sobieski beat Granite City 1-0.
Lake Henry beat the Cold Spring Rockies 3-2 Friday.

Rockies, Draftees Advance to the Regional Tournament w/ the #1 Seed
The Rockies defeated Kimball 3-2 in 10 innings to earn the #1 spot heading into the Regional Tournament. This year it will be held at our very own Cold Spring Baseball Park and will feature the advancing teams from both our Central Valley League and the Northstar League.
With the #1 Spot, the Rockies were granted the right to draft first and third from the eliminated teams in their sub-region (Pearl Lake and Luxemburg)
