Cochrane Referees Association: Development
How you already done some supervisions?
Please help us keep track by filling out the survey board on the supervisions you've done to date. Thanks for your help.
Note: select either the appropriate position survey and then add the official name & level in the comment box.
Supervision forms now online!
Below you will find links to both supervision forms. The Senior level form is for any supervisions on officials doing Pee Wee Tier 2 and higher hockey. The Junior level form is used for all categories of hockey below Pee Wee Tier 2. Just take notes at the game and review them with the official. Afterwards, download the form onto your computer and fill it out online. When complete, forward the document to Glenn McSween at gmcsween@petro-canada.ca for further action. If you cannot fill the form out online, there should be copies of the form available in the ref's room. Fill it out and leave it in Glenn's file folder at the Spray Lakes arena ref's room. If you have any questions on this process, please don't hesitate to give Glenn a call at 932-1689.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS
CRA Mentorship Program Memo
Throughout the 2005/06 season, all the officials in the CRA will be subjected to a minimum of 2 supervisions. In addition, the senior (mentor) officials will work with assigned junior (student) officials during the season under the mentorship program. (Updated list attached).
They will provide them with consistent supervisions, a familiar point of contact, an outlet for questions and clarification, and most importantgly will lead by example. Attached is a listing of the current member officials and their respective mentors. The top senior officials are expected to provide each other with mentor support, in addition to the supervisions they'll be receiving from resources outside the CRA for higher hockey. Although mentors are given the responsibility of supporting the younger officials, this does not exclude the student official from taking some initiative to ensure the scope of the program is met. Two way communication between the mentor and student official is essential if this program is to succeed. If you have any questions and/or comments regarding the mentorship program, please don't hesitate to send us a note to cochranerefs@hotmail.com and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. Thanks and have a great season!
