It's Been a Great Season...

White Sox 2004

A Very Special Thanks!
Lottie McVey for being the
team mother.

Pat Gray and Dave Harper
for helping umpire our games.

Brian Moore and Joe McVey
for helping with the dugout.

Coach David Wood for helping
coach this great group of kids.

Also a special thanks to all the
parents for helping in the concession
with practices and for supporting
our team!

We have had a tremendous season more than doubling our wins from last season and coming very, very close to several more. I am very, very proud of each one of our kids for showing alot of character and sportsmanship. We won with modesty and lost with pride, and not once did we give up!

We saw alot of great plays and big hits and hints of things to come. Our older kids showed great leadership on the field and and showed glimpses of the talent this team holds. Our younger kids showed interest, willingness to play new and different positions and I feel that each learned about playing baseball.

I would also like to express my gratitude and respect for our parents. As a coach, I feel very fortunate to not only have great kids on the team, but great parents in the stands. I appreciate all of the help on the field and in the concession; Without it, the season would not have been possible. I also appreciate the sportsmanship shown by our parents...thanks for cheering for our team, and not against the other.

I really enjoyed coaching these kids and watching them progress through the season. I know that many of you, when your child is up to bat or pitching, feel you are right there on the field next to them for every pitch and play. I felt that way about each one of the kids...I felt the joys of success and the agony of defeat with each.

I sincerley hope that everyone from the team has learned and will take something with them from this has been fun.

Keep visiting the site, I will try to keep this updated and will also post times that we will be heading to the batting cages through the rest of the summer and fall. Alot of kids have shown interest in heading to the cages even though the season has ended, I think it will be alot of fun and great practice.
