2009 JayHawk Season
The 2009 season is here!
Hawks are in the House!!
Be sure to check the team site (calander) and the league site for important updates.
The goal for the JayHawk program is to instill discipline, commitment, poise, and to have fun doing it. The level of competition and intensity is magnified from year to year as we move up from division to division.
While a winning record shows success... I measure success by "character" growth.
I thank you all for your past and present support and trust!

WHAT'S HAPPENING???
The 2009 season is here!
Welcome back former JayHawks & new JayHawks!!!
A variety of clinics will be offered this year outside of what was provided last year. It is imperative that every player study the handouts provided on this site. It is equally important that each player remain physically active.
Don't wait to get mentally and physically in shape because by August... it will be to late!!!

Saturday, June 27th
Mandatory team meeting at Alta Murrieta Sports Park from 5:00 PM to about 6:30 PM for equipment fitting, paperwork, & pictues.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet the staff, parents, & players. We will be going over several items of interest of what to expect and address questions in person.
This sport is like no other in terms of the high level of committment rquired. We always strive to represent our program and city with a high level of dedication to help ensure success for the players.
This meeting will give you all the optimum opportunity for personal attention. We will clearly need to schedule another time for equipment sizing but please understand that equipment issue is first come first serve.
A refundable (NON-CASHED) check for $300.00 is required. You will receive the check back upon returning your equipment at the end of the season. DO NOT FILL OUT ANY SIZE INFO on the form.
Also, if you are missing any league required paperwork, please mail it to the league as soon as possible. Players cannot practice without paperwork being turned in.

Study The Handouts!
Knowledge is power!!!
The day we take the field, the coaching staff will be evaluating several aspects of your abilities. One of the most important things about any game is understanding the rules and stategies to acieve success.
I have seen brute strength and blazing speed "outwitted" and defeated many times. Believe me when I say, "You cannot teach smart football to lazy minds!"
Take the time to mentally prepare by studying the handouts in the web site. Don't get caught saying "I don't know coach."
While reading through the material, envision yourself at each position. If you do not understand something, please e-mail or call one of the coaches or myself.

Team Sponsors Needed
Fundraising is a necessary function that we must all participate in. We are not asking for you to necessarily donate funds, but we are asking that everyone at least make an earnest effort to reach out to the people in your life..
Our goal is to raise $7500.00 by August 1st.
In an effort to make this as painless as possible, I have found that the quickest and most efficient way to raise funds is to solicit my sphere of influence (friends, family, co-workers, local business owners). I am confident that we can collectively procure 15 to 20 sponsors at $100.00 each. We will post all sponsors that donate $100.00 or more on the team web site and each sponsor will receive a team plaque. Every $100.00 will yield approximately $75.00.
By achieving this goal we can rest easy during the course of the season and focus on football. These funds will be used for spirit gear/equipment, and our year end banquet costs.
