Tri-County Little League: Welcome
Welcome to our new 2009 website. CNY Tri-County Little League serves the counties of Oneida, Madison, and Herkimer. We serve teams from Brookfield, Madison, Oriskany Falls, Sauquoit, Waterville and West Winfield NY.
The Sauquoit Braves are the winners of the Chafee Division with a record of 13-1. Second place in the Chafee Division goes to the Sauquoit Reds with a 10-4 record. Brookfield placed first with the West Winfield Firemen placing second in the Fallon Division. Brookfield has a record of 13-2 while the West Winfield Firemen have a record of 12-3.
On Tuesday, June 16 the Braves defeated the Reds with a score of 4 to 1 in Sauquoit. Brookfield won their game with the West Winfield Firemen with a score of 7 to 0 in Brookfield.
Brookfield and the Sauquoit Braves will play for the league championship on Friday, June 19, at 6 p.m. at West Winfield.
On Monday evening the Softball division began playoffs. The Sauquoit Tigers defeated Brookfield Girls with a score of 9 to 6. Mt. Markham Optimists defeated ProActive Physical Therapy with a score of 15 to 5.
Mt. Markham and the Sauquoit Tigers will play for the softball league championship on Thursday, June 18, at 6 p.m. at Babbott Field in Waterville.
The format for District All-Star play for boys will be different this year. This year they will be using a pool play system. Each team will be guaranteed 5 games of play. There are three fields, New Hartford, Ilion, and Herkimer. Teams will play on each of the three fields. There are six teams in each pool and the team with the best record within the pool will advance to the championship round. Tri-County A (Chafee Division) is in Pool 3 which is in Ilion and their first game will be June 27 (Saturday). Tri-County B (Fallon) will be in New Hartford starting on June 27. At this time, there are not any other girls’ softball teams playing in the District Tournament. Therefore, Tri-County automatically becomes District 10 champions and will advance to the inter-district play with a date to be announced. Approximate date of play will begin the 2nd week in July. Please keep these changes and dates in mind when making your All-Star selections. Please call me if you have any questions.
