View the: 2011 UMPIRE POLICY AND PROCEDURES What is the Game Coordinator? If no adult umpire is available for a game, and youth umpires are used exclusively for that game, the home team must assigne an adult as Game Coordinator, or the game cannot be played. The Game Coordinator must not be a manager or coach of either team in the game, and cannot be assigned as Game Coordinator for more than one game at a time. No Umpiring experiance is required to be a Game Coordinator. The Game Coordinator will not be on the field, rather in a position to watch and observe the game, mangers, players, and umpires. The Game Coordinator does not have the authority to overturn any call made by an umpire, however is to be a part of the pre-game meeting with the umpire and managers. Not Available to Umpire? Sign-Up to be a Game Coordinator. Check out the Umpire Schedule and if the Game Coordinator Field reads REQUIRED we need a Game Coordinator. Send an email to cmrlluic@san.rr.com. (If you are a parent that goes to games your child umpires this is a good opportunity for a Game Coordinator) Click for more info: GAME COORDINATOR Friday, December 23 Interested in Umpiring in 2012? Aside from calling ball or strike, safe or out, umpires are responsible for teaching players good sportsmanship and the rules of the game. Umpires are also called upon to interpret rules and help settle minor disputes that may occur during games. Most Little League games have one home plate umpire and a minimum of one field umpire. Before becoming a home plate umpire you may be required to participate in training sessions and seminars. No experience is necessary. There are various rules and mechanic clinics that are run by the District 31 Umpires. These clinics discuss Little League rules, how to make calls, and the placement of the umpires on the field during game play. Clinics are typically held in January and/or February. CMRLL may require that ALL umpires attend a minimum of one clinic prior to the start of the regular season.
