Most Little League games have one home plate umpire and a minimum of one field umpire. Before becoming a home plate umpire you may be required to participate in training sessions and seminars.

No experience is necessary. There are various rules and mechanic clinics that are run by the District 31 Umpires. These clinics discuss Little League rules, how to make calls, and the placement of the umpires on the field during game play. Clinics are typically held in January and/or February.

CMRLL may require that ALL umpires attend a minimum of one clinic prior to the start of the regular season.

Youth Umpires
Youth umpiring is open to all ages 12 to 17. Your past experience will determine what division you will be eligible to umpire in. Typically 12 year olds ONLY umpire our Rookie division. Youth Umpires will be paid for each game they umpire. The amount per game will be determined by the Board of Directors each year and will be announced prior to the start of the regular season.

Adult Umpires
Adult umpiring is open all over the age of 18. Adult Umpires are 100% volunteer.

Volunteer Applications for the 2012 season are available on the CMRLL website. These will be required for all umpires 18 and older.
