Nitro Soccer Complex
In the last year, a group of individuals has formed the Nitro Soccer Foundation.  The goal is to develop a new complex in Nitro for the high school girls and boys soccer teams.  The fields would be located behind McDonalds and Rally's Burgers.  The Foundation continues to perform preliminary design work and cost estimates, and plans to hire a professional fund-raising firm to help raise the monies necessary for construction.  This project will be similar to the Fields at Trace Fork complex in South Charleston.  If you are interested in contributing to this project, please forward your information to the Nitro Soccer Foundation, PO Box 266, Nitro WV 25143.  You can also contact Tom Bowden via email at drtom1@suddenlink.net.  Updates will be maintained here on the progress of this project.

In Memory - Deena Hutchens

On Monday, December 29, 2008, Deena Hutchens passed away after a long battle with breast cancer.  Deena and her husband Jon have been coaches in our league, and their kids have played with CLNPSA, for several years.  They have served as true role models to our program with their attitude, commitment, and dedication to the kids they coached.  Despite the illness, Deena was an incredible spirit and inspiration to many people during this time.  Without her and Jon, many kids would not have had the opportunity to play and to grow from the experience.  Their positive attitude and willingness to press forward was an example for the kids and parents involved with their teams.

CLNPSA Soccer Camp
WOW!! The first annual Cross Lanes Soccer Boot Camp got off to an exciting start on Monday, August 1st and is now finished. We had 61 campers in attendance ranging in age from six to fourteen. Camp Trainer Ian Pruden brought along several assistants to evaluate the kids and run the training. We feel like this camp was a success. We hope that each kid had a great time, learned some new skills, and wants to come back next year.
