Team Responsibilities
Major League Games
Home Team Responsibilities:
Field set up for the start of the game includes:
- Bases in place
- Line the base paths and batter's box
- Raise the flag
- PA system in place and staffed
- One adult to work in the concession stand--at least 30 minutes prior to game start
Visiting Team Responsibilities:
Close down the field at the end of a game includes:
- Pick up and put away bases, put plugs back in base holes
- Rake the infield, mound, and home plate area
- Cover home plate and mound
- Put away all rakes
- Take down and put away the flag
- Take down and put away the PA system
- One adult to work in the concession stand at least 30 minutes prior to game start
- Lock up the concession stand and the shed
Minor League and Tee Ball Games
Both home and visiting teams:
If you have the first game scheduled on Saturday morning, you must have at least one adult from each team at the field at 7:30am to set up the fields (see Majors, above). The league will have at least one member from the Board present to show what needs to be done to prepare the fields.
- One adult from each team is required to work in the concession stand.
- The home team is responsible for staffing the PA system and scoreboard with one adult.
Parent/Coach Communications
Appropriate Concerns to Discuss with Coaches
- Treatment of your child
- Ways to help your child improve
- Concerns about your child's behavior
Inappropriate Concerns to Discuss with Coaches
- Playing time
- Team strategy
- Play calling
- Other athletes
Parent's Code of Conduct
- Control your emotions at games and events
- Be realistic with your child's physical ability and avoid making comparisons with other members of the team
- Respect your child's coaches. Communicate with them in a positive way and encourage others to do the same
- Be a positive role model
Procedures to Discuss Concerns with Coaches
- Call the Manager/Coach to set up an appointment
- If the coach can not be reaches, call the Player Representative from the Board of Directors to set up the meeting for you and the coach
- Please DO NOT attempt to confront a coach before or after a game or practice. These can be emotional times for both the parent and the coach. Meetings of this nature usually do not promote positive resolution.
The Next Step to Resolve an Issue
- Call and set up an appointment with the Player Representative to discuss the situation
- At this meeting, the appropriate next step can be determined
