Congratulations to all selected players. Practices will start after the City Championship, contact your manager for details.
As the regular season winds down, I wish to thank all the players, their families, and our many volunteers for another wonderful season with Central Little League.
The CLL picnic was a wonderful success with kids from all leagues enjoying the day. In addition, our Major division has a playoff game to determine the league Champion scheduled this Tuesday the 9th at 6 pm, so please come out to cheer for Big Jim’s and Kiwanis. Lastly, the league will host the annual City Championship on June 13th and 15th.
Our community learned this week that local authorities investigated and charged a former CLL treasurer with offenses affecting the League. Be assured that all CLL Board members, past and present, are fully cooperating with officials and continue to work with the best interests of the League and all players in mind.
The Board likewise assures all League members that our finances are stable and sound. New policies and procedures have been implemented to provide greater scrutiny to our treasurer's actions as well as to create absolute transparency in the receipt and accounting of funds from all sources. Although the League has suffered losses, which we greatly regret, we have recovered a portion and continue to pursue full recovery.
Because of the pending legal proceedings, the Board unfortunately cannot provide greater details at this time. As circumstances permit, we will report more fully and answer League member questions at appropriate times and places.
Central Little League remains committed to providing area boys and girls with an enriching, challenging and exciting baseball experience. This spring Central Little League served 183 children in t-ball through the majors. We have wonderful volunteers serving as team managers, instructional coaches, board members, event planners, fundraisers and concession workers. Our refurbished, Bermuda grass playing field and new concession stand present as one of the best, if not the best, facilities in the area. We continue to be proud of the League's accomplishments and remain dedicated to providing a safe and rewarding activity for our children.
Thank you for your continued support of Central Little League. Now onto the City Championship and All-Stars!
