Red Sox Crowned City Champs

Red Sox Crowned City Champs

It took two games on Saturday, but the Continental Little League Red Sox fought back after a loss at the hands of the reigning Continental Rockies to capture the city title by winning the second game against the Rockies.

The first game on Saturday was do or die for the Rockies, as they had one loss in the double elimination tournament.  The Rockies defeated the Red Sox in first game, handing the Red Sox their first tournament loss.

With both teams now with one loss, the next game would decide the championship.

After the tough loss, the Red Sox regained their composure in the nightcap, and handed the Rockies their second tournament loss; thereby winning the championship.

Congratulations to the Red Sox for keeping the city championship trophy in Continental Little League!

Continental Little League Completes Regular Season

The Rockies wrapped up first place in the Major Division for the second year in a row, by defeating the Red Sox on Friday, June 6th.  Even with the loss, the Red Sox locked up second place, with the Rangers close behind in third.  The D-Backs, Cardinals and Angels round out the standings placing fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

All Continental Major League teams will now take part in the City of Flagstaff Little League Tournament.  Continental Little League has won the city tournament the past three years, six of the past seven years, and is sending several teams capable of keeping the trophy at Continental for another year.

In AAA action, the Diamondbacks cruised to first place and will join all other AAA teams in an intra-league AAA tournament.  The Rangers took second place followed by the Angels, Cardinals, Padres, Red Sox and Rockies.

To find out when and where you can cheer on your favorite Continental Little League team, click on the handout below to download the city tournament schedule.

Good luck to all CLL teams in tournament play!

Batting Cages
Batting Cage Construction Complete

The new batting cage tunnels have been completed.  A fence has been erected around the new batting cages for safety, and to prolong the life of the batting cage netting.  An artificial grass surface has been installed on the floor of the cages.
To prolong the life of the floor, NO CLEATS ARE ALLOWED IN THE CAGES!

A special thanks goes out to our sponsors for stepping up with funding to cover the cost of the new batting cages.
