Coach Ray
Coach Ray Botto
Ray Botto - VARSITY HEAD COACH
Prior to heading up the varsity squad, Ray coached CLLA's middle school program ('04-'09). During his tenure, the middle school program won the 2007 Houston championship at both the Young Guns level and 7th/8th (DII) level. In 2008 and 2009, his 8th grade squads finished the regular season undefeated and represented the league's South Conference top seed. A former player and alumnus of Clarkstown High School North ('76) and the United States Merchant Marine Academy ('80), Ray has been involved in youth programs in the Clear Lake area since 1995. With a style that stresses PRIDE (Principles, Respect, Integrity, Discipline and Effort), Ray's coaching qualifications are certified by US Lacrosse and the Positive Coaching Alliance.

Junior Varsity Head Coach - David Heintschel
Coach David Heintschel graduated from Clear Lake High School and Baylor University where he played lacrosse for Baylor. David joined Clear Lake Lacrosse as the Junior Varsity Coach in 2002. He is employed by NASA.

Mike Dufour - Varsity Assistant Coach
Michael is a Clear Lake High School Alum graduating in 2003, and having played on the first Boys Varsity team at Lake. He started at Defense all four years at Lake, and was a major reason Lake matriculated to the THSLL Division I in just three years, playing for Coach Ormsby. Michael earned THSLL All State DII his junior year and All State DI his senior year at Lake. Michael just graduated from Texas A&M this past May. While at A&M, Michael started at Defense all four years and was All LSA A Division his last two years at A&M, in addition to serving as a Captain of the team.

Robert Curbeam (Beamer) - Varsity Assistant
Prior to becoming an assistant coach on the varsity squad, Robert was an assistant coach for the CLLA junior varsity squad for two seasons. Growing up in Baltimore, Robert has played lacrosse at the junior high school, high school, college and men’s club levels for a total of 10 years as a player. His teams include Woodlawn Junior and Senior High Schools, the United States Naval Academy, Pensacola Lacrosse Club, and Monterey Lacrosse Club.

Coach Van Hutto
Van Hutto - Junior Varsity Assistant
Van has coached since 2005 as a JV Assistant Coach. An alumnus of Pasadena High School and Baylor University, he has been involved in youth programs and sports for the last 19 years. Van is an avid cyclist and sports enthusiast. He is a Clear Lake resident and his family includes wife Jackie, son Forrest (Fr at LSU) and daughter Blakely (The University of Texas , Austin). Professionally, Van has been with MCI/Verizon Business for 17 years and is currently a Senior Account Manager in Corporate/Global accounts.

Joey Latimer

Joey is an alumnus of Clear Lake High School. He graduated in 2007. Joey was a captain and starting goalie for the Clear Lake lacrosse squad from 04-07. Joey was named All-District goalie his junior and senior seasons and was a Top 99 selection his junior year.  Joey was also the Varsity Rookie of the Year his sophomore year and the overall team MVP his senior year. 

Last year Joey played for Hendrix College Division 3 NCAA lacrosse in Conway, Arkansas for his freshman season. Joey currently attends San Jacinto College Central campus in Pasadena. Joey is planning on transferring to either the University of Houston or Stephen F. Austin State University and double majoring in Criminal Justice and Pre-Law. This is Joey’s first year with the organization as a coach and he is very excited and looking forward to a great season.
