Cudas Take All 7 to Stay Undefeated

The Cudas and Sox's were both battling to stay atop the standings. The Cudas would send Walter Sepulveda to the mound to battle Hopkins of the Sox. The Cudas would go scoreless in the first . Sepulveda would give up a double to O'Bay with 2 outs but would buckle Preston on a 0-2 curve to get out of the inning. The Cudas would strike first in the top of the second. With one out Salvi and Caulfield would draw back to back walks both in 8 pitch at bats. Krogh would get the first hit and load the bases. With one out and bases loaded Hopkins would strike out Barnes for the second out. Chris Chisena would rip a 2 out single to start the day off that would score 2. Sportman would follow with a walk to load the bases again. Maldanado would hit a RBI single to make it 3-0. Erick Joyce would follow ripping a single up the middle to score 2 more cudas making it a 5-0 lead. Rogers would step up and hit a slow rolling ball in between first and the pitchers mound. He would hustle it out and Maldanado would score from 3rd and Joyce would hustle all the way from second and score making it 7-0. Hopkins would then K the next batter. In the bottom of the 2nd the Sox's cather Hoagboom would start the inning off with a HR making it a 7-1 game. Sepululveda would retire the next three batters, 2 of them looking to make it a 7-1 game after 2. Hopkins would settle down and retire the Cudas in the 4rd and 4th innings. In the bottom of the 4th the Sox's would like to strike back. O'Bey would reach on an error to start the inning. Preston would hit a 2 run HR to make it 7-3. Hoagboom would step up and was hit in his side Sepulveda would then get the next batter to ground out. With one out Vachon would hit an RBI single Netar would follow with a HR making it 7-6. Quinn would walk and steal 2nd when Maldando dropped the ball. Both Weinamns would draw walks leaving the bases loaded with only one out. O'Bey would hit a Sac to center making it 7-7. Sepulveda would get out of the inning. In the top of the 5th Jimmy Rogers would hit a HR to lead off the inning and make it 8-7. Hopkins would get out of the inning again after 2 flu out to the OF. Chad Gardner would take the mound in the 5th looking for his fist CDMSBL win. Hoagboom would draw a walk to start things off and steal 2nd, Razz would bunt him over to 3rd putting him at 3rd with one out. Vachon would single him in making it 8-8 Gardner would settle in and K the next two batters both looking. Hopkins would come back out in the 7th 227 pitches into the game and would get out of the inning even though chis had a 1 out single. The Cudas would then send Gawinski to the mound to start the 6th. Gawinski would walk 2 batters with one out but would battle to keep the game ties at 8. In the top of the 7th Erick Joyce would lead the inning with a walk and removing Hopkins from the game for Preston. Jimmy Rogers would bunt him over to 2nd. Gawinski would tehn step up with one out and drive a ball into right scoring Joyce from 2nd to make it 9-8. Salvi would follow with a hit up the middle that skpped by the short stop. Caulfield would draw a walk to load the bases for Krogh. Krogh would single one to right scoring 2 runs. Preston would then K the next two batters keeping the game 11-8. The Cudas would bring Bob Krogh in to close it down. Krogh would K the first batter, the next batter would fly out to Krogh and then he would K the 3rd batter of the inning to move the Cudas to 3-0. The Cudas next game is Friday at 8:00 at Bob Moore.
