Cudas defeat Knights Opening Night

The South Troy Cudas opened the season against the Colonie Knights. The new look Cudas revealed their new uniforms as well as their new roster. Jim Shook would take the mound against the Knights Ace Adam Anderson. Shook would pitch a 1-2-3 first inning for his new team. The Cudas would come to bat in the first looking to make some noise. After Anderson would strike out the first batter he would then hit Maldando in the head with the next pitch. Rogers would step to the plate and hit a double down the right field line. With Maldando on third and Rogers on Second John Salvi would single to right making the game 1-0. Anderson would battle out of the inning. Shook would have a quick 1-2-3 inning in the second striking out all 3 batters. Anderson would keep it a 1-0 game as he would shut down the Cudas. Shook would keep it a 1-0 game after he would shut down the Knights in the 3rd. The Cudas would strike again in the 3rd. Rogers would hit his second double of the game. Caufield would then follow with a walk. Newly added Erick Joyce would then single in Rogers in and Caufield would move to second. Krogh would then follow with a single to score Caufield to make the score 3-0 after three. Shook would continue moving on and so would Anderson until the bottom of the 5th. The Cudas Jimmy Rogers would hit a hard ball up the middle. The Knight SS Jami Burnetter would bobble the ball allowing Rogers to make it safe. Rogers would steal 2nd and 3rd base. Salvi would walk and steal 2nd putting 2 runners in scoring position. Joyce would hit a shallow fly ball into right which would allow Rogers to tag up and score from 3rd. Making it a 4-0 game. Shook would continue on to finish the game and pick up the first Win for the Cudas.
