CUDAS are rolling....
Cudas are finally starting to put things together. Cudas are on a 5 game wining streak. 2 weeks ago they started by sweeping the then 11-1 black socks in a double header. They won the first game 13-1 in 4 and a half innings. Chisena pitched a CG 2 hitter and everyone on the team scored. In game 2 they won 3-1 in an 8 inning battle. In the top of the 8th Gawinski would hit a game winning single for 2 rbi's with 2 outs. Sepulveda would pitch a CG 3 hitter.
On this past Thursday, after a few rainouts the Cudas would face the Mets and the Tartan Army in a double header. In the first game the Cudas would send All Star Walter Sepulveda and the Mets would send their All Star Kevin Manileko to the mound. In the bottom of the first the Cudas would start the game with 5 in the first. Salvi would hit a 2 run HR and Krogh a 2 rbi single. In the bottom of the 2nd the Cudas would add another run on a rbi single by Coleman plating Maldanado. In the top of the 4th the Mets would get on the board. They would put up 3 on RBI's by B.Jette, Rose and Petrone makeing the game 6-3. In the bottom of the 5th the Cudas would add another run after Coleman would double and Krogh would single him in. The Cudas would add 2 more in the 6th on back to back RBI doubles by Rogers and Coleman making the final score 9-3. Sepulveda pitched a CG giving up 4 hits.
Game 2 of the night the Cudas would send Giorgio Fuda to the mound to face the Tartan Army. The Cudas would start off the game scoring 3 in the first afte a triple by Lewis to start off the game Maldanado would single him in followed by an rbi by Gawinski and a rbi double by Krogh. Fuda would K two in the first. In the top of the 2nd Maldando would have a sac fly rbi to make the game 4-0 after 2. After only 1 K in the 2nd Fuda would give up a single to start the 3rd. But after a sac would move the runner to 2nd, Fuda would K the next 2 batters. In the bottom of the 4th Fuda would K the side. The Cudas would be held in the 3-4-and 5th. In the bottom of the 5th Fuda would give up a double to start the inning. Hw would K the next batter but would give up a single to put runners on the corner. The Army would then get a run on a FC. The Army would then get the bases loaded on a walk and the next batter would hit one over first base and Maldanado would drop the ball scoring 2 more and making it a 4-3 game. Fuda would then get upset and fire 3 of his fastest pitches of the game and getting his 10th K of the day. In the bottom of the 6th Krogh would come in due to a high pitch count from Fuda. Krogh would come in and shut it down for 2 innings and would have 3 K's 1 hit and would then pick him off giving the Cudas 4 in a row.
Game 5 would put Chisena on the mound against the first place black socks Kolach. In the bottom of the 1st the Cudas would score 5 runs on 5 hits, Salvi would have 2 RBI's on his double off the fence. In the top of the 2nd the Socks would score 2 runs on no hits but would make it a 5-2 game. In the bottom of the 2nd the Cudas would add 12 more runs making it a 17-2 game after 2. In the inning every player would score at least 1 time and Maldanado, Gawinshi and Rogers would each score 2 times. In the inning Coleman would have 4 RBI's on a 3 run HR and a RBI sac fly. In the top of the 3rd the socks would add 1 more run after another error make the score 17-3. The Cudas would then take Chisena out of the game due to leg cramps and would put Colman in to finish it out Maldanado would move to center and the first batter would drive one to him, he would then throw a laser to home for the double play at the plate, throwing out the runner by 8 feet. In the bottom of the 3rd the Cudas would add 2 more and a RBI double by Gawinski and then Coleman would plate one on a hit to shortstop makeing it 19-3. In the 4th the Cudas would not score as Sepulveda and Doyle could not come through with runners in scoring position. In the top of the 5th the Socks would add 3 more runns on a few missed played balls by the Cudas new second baseman making the final score 19-6. Player of the game was Joey Coleman who had a 3 run HR and 4 RBI's as well as picking up the W and making the Cudas 9-8.
The Cudas next game will be against the Knights this upcoming Wednesday night at Shuttleworth park at 7pm.
