Wednesday July 22, 2009: Scotia, NY; Bob Moore Stadium
Game 1:
The Capital City Canes and Scotia Cyclones would play their third and final game of the season. The Canes sent ACE Nate Novak to the hill to battle Jake Squillace of the Cyclones. Novak would start strong striking out 5 of the first 6 batters he faced. The Canes would jump out to an early 2-0 lead in the first when Hoffman would walk and Novak would get off the shined and go deep to center. Squillace would retire the Canes with 3 k’s in the second. The Cyclones would get on the board in the 3rd when Cushing would single and advance to third on an error. Dan Ciarmello would sacrifice him in to cut the lead in ½. The Canes would get another run in the third when Panza would reach on a throwing error and move to third on the throw. Hoffman would sacrifice him in and take the 3-1 lead. The Cyclones would score again in the 4th when Apelle would get hit by a pitch and score on an Ahl single. The Canes would get 2 more in the 5th when Novak would single and LeMorta would double to left driving him in. Eric Solomon would play doubles baseball and score LeMorta on back to back doubles. Novak would shut the Cyclones down the next 3 innings not allowing a hit striking out 7. Tom O’brien would hit a 2 run homerun in the bottom of the 6th to give the Canes 6-1. The Canes win would finish the 3 game sweep of the Cyclones. Final Score: Canes 6 Cyclones 1

Game 2:
The Canes would play their 2nd game of the night against the Scotia Tartan Army. The Canes sent Chris Yager to the hill to battle the Younger Gatta. Yager would roll the whole game on giving way to 2 hits and striking out 13 in 5 innings. The Canes would start scoring early when Panza would walk and Hoffman would go deep. The canes would break it open in the 4th when Morrison and Huneau would reach on back to back errors, Panza would walk and Hoffman would single. BJ Roberts would step to the plate and go yard for a 3 run HR. The Canes would finish the game in the bottom of the 5th when Novak and Roberts would have back to back doubles, then Jeff Solomon would hit a pinch hit 3 run walk off homerun. Final score 10-0.
