On a very wet Saturday morning the Colonie Knights Squared off against the Scotia Tartan Army. Dave Goerold got the start off his recent stint over seas against the Army's Hall. The Knights got first licks in the game and put them to good use. The Knights scored 4 runs before the first out was recorded on a Dave Goerold SAC fly.(his first at bat since little league) The inning continued as Spina then hit an RBI single followed by a Burnetter RBI single. Carney would make the first non-productive out of the game with a popout to the thirdbaseman. Then Freddie Harris would come up and hit the first ball he saw way over the fense for a grand slam. There would be a walk and a HBP after that until the inning ended on a Trainor groudout. This put the Knights up 10-0 in the top of the first inning. Dave put up a 1,2,3 inning in the bottom half of the inning to bring the Knights back to the dish.. This inning would be much of the same for the Knights as they scored 8 more in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Dave again would go out and put up a 1,2,3, recording 2 Ks while doing so. In the top of the third inning Mr. Harris would come up to lead off the inning and hit a ball about 600ft for his second HR of the game. Anderson came up and made it a back to back HR effort, although his went about half as far as Freddie's. The Knights did not get anymore runs on the board the rest of the inning despite a single and another HBP. In the bottom of the frame Donata hit an oppo single over first base. That is all the Tartan Army could muster for offense in the frame.. Tartan Army pitching settled down the rest of the game not yielding any runs the rest of the game while holding the Knights to only 3 more hits. Dave would pretty much cruise the rest of the game ending up with 5K's and giving up a total of two hits.
