Scotia, NY: Scotia Town Park
This would be the first ever game played in the Scotia Town Park in the NABA/MABL league history. The game would be a pitchers duel between the Canes Jason Cornell and the X-tribes Nick Demidio. After going deep twice Sunday night Cornell would go out Thursday night to show he can deal on the bump too. The first pitch would be thrown at 6:04 pm. The Canes would get started early when Nick Panza would single on the first pitch f the game and move to second on a wild pitch. Brian Hoffman would then single to left scoring Panza making the score 1-0. Josh Kean would come up and plunked and with 1 out put runners at 1st and second. A ball in the dirt would advance the runners and bring Mark LeMorta to the plate. LeMorta would hit a deep SAC fly to left to score Hoffman and give the Canes the early 2-0 lead. Vumbaco would lead the game off for the Tribe with a single down the line but back to back ground balls the Canes would finally turn their first DP of the season to end the inning. Cornell and Demidio would roll all game. The Tribe would get on the board in the 5th when Joe Slater would lead of the inning getting PLUNKED and then steal second. The Canes would make a throwing error with one out scoring Slater making the score 2-1. Demidio would roll not giving way to another Canes hit until the 6th when Panza and Hoffman would have back to back single for their second hits of the day. But Demidio would get the next two Canes hitters stranding 2. The Canes would look to score an insurance run in the 7th when Tom Morrison would come off the bench and get laced in the hip by a Demidio fast ball. New Cane BJ Roberts would then double to the gap advancing Morrison to third. With one our RJ Laurin would hit fly ball to CF deep enough to score Morrison giving the Canes a 3-1 lead. The Tribe would try and get something going in the 7th, but Cornell would prevail getting the first two hitters to pop out and ground out to a diving Novack at 3B. Caufield would draw a 2 out walk but Cornell would dig deep and get his first K of the game to get the W.
Final Score: Canes 3 X-tribe 1.
