Mets drop one to the Black Sox
In search of their third straight win, the Capital Mets sent Juice Chukravany to the hill to take on the first place Albany Black Sox. The Sox would get on the board early, scoring on a single off the bat of Guy Prisciandaro. The Mets would fight back in the 3rd. Erik Miller, Greg Jette, and Matt Young would all come through with rbi knocks giving the Mets a 4-2 lead after 3 innings of play. The Sox would take the lead right back, putting up a 3 spot in the 4th. Heading into the 7th inning, the teams were knotted at 5 runs a piece. Chris Petrone, who took over for Juice in the 5th, would have another solid outing, but would run into control problems in the 7th. Tom Praisner and Phil Weinman drew back to back walks with the bases loaded to put the Sox up for good. The Mets will look to even up the series, as the two teams meet up again Thursday night at Shuttleworth Park.

Mets hold on to defeat the Cyclones
The Capital Mets took on the Scotia Cyclones at SUNY Albany for their first meeting of the season. The Mets would send Kevin Manilenko to battle Jake Squillace of the Cyclones. The Mets would come out swinging early, plating 9 runs after 2 innings of play. The Cyclones would then hand the ball over to Dan Ciarmello who would cruise the rest of the way. Milenko looked sharp on the day, but would run into trouble in the third, giving up 4 runs on a combination of some hits and sloppy defense. Jeff Young would hold off the Cyclones threat, striking out 5 in 3 innings of work. Greg Jette, Jeff Young and Anthony Gadani would lead the mets on offense, all with multi hit games. Joe Curcio paced the Cyclones with two doubles on the day.
