Mets come up short in 2009 debut
The Cudas would send Rookie Pitcher Josh Burnette to the Mound to battle "Juice" of the Mets. Burnette would pitch good but the Mets would score in the first on a Youngs double to take a 1-0 Lead. The Cudas would score 3 in the bottom of the inning after Rogers and Maldando would start the game off with back to back singles then a walk of Chisena. After a pop out by Salvi and Wigand, Dodge would get hit on the wrist on a 0-2 count to tie the game. Coleman would follow with a 2 out single that would plate Maldanado and Chisena giving the Cudas a 3-1 lead. In the top of the third Agrisano would hit a HR to make it a 3-2 game. In the bottom of the inning the Cudas would add 2 more runs on a single by Coleman making it a 5-2 game. In the bottom of the 5th Salvi would lead off the inning with a single and would steal second. With 2 outs Coleman would step up again but insteas of a single he would hit a RBI double giving the Cudas a 6-2 lead. In the top of the 6th the Mets would get three batters on with one out so the Cudas would call on Lou Dodge to close it out. Dodge would have trouble finding the zone and the Mets would place 5 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks and a few wild pitches to give the Mets a 7-6 lead. In the bottom of the 6th Maldando would hit a 1 out triple. Hasselbarth who was entered in for Defense would deliver a game tying RBI single. salvi would follow with a walk. Wigand would follow with a single up the middle and Hasselbarth would try to score from second but Greg Jette would throw him out at the plate. Dodge would then get Hit loading the bases for Coleman. Coleman would hit one up the middle but the Mets second baseman would make a good play and flip it to second to stop the Cudas. The Cudas would then send Bob "The Legend " Krogh to the mound to face B Jette, Quinson, and G. Jette. Krogh would strikeout all three with his deuce keeping the game tied at 7. In the bottom of the 7th inning Krogh would start the inning off but would just miss it and pop out, Barnes would follow with a pop out. this would send Brandt Kronholm to the plate(aka Jesus aka Sean Michaels aka ,,,,). Kronholm who was already 2-3 would look to het his 3rd hit of the day and on a 0-1 count he would rip a single up the middle. Rogers would follow with a single to put 2 on and Maldanado would step up to the plate one inning after his triple. He would take a 2-1 curve to opposte field to score Kronholm from second for the game winning walk off. The Cudas would move their record to 2-2 for the season and are looking to carry their 2 game winning streak into their Atlantic City tourny.
