The season is a little under a month away and the Capital District Red Stars have decided to leave the CDMABL for the new 18over NABF league. After 9 season the Red Stars have decided to move on and look else where to play in 2009. The team is not defunct nor independent. They will continue to play their home games at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam and have invited all CDNABA teams to compete in a string of non-league games. The team's new website is currently under construction but can be found at eteamz.com/capitaldistrictredstars.
With the loss of one the MABL bounces right back and adds another. The Capital Mets have recieved expansion from the CDMABL League. The Mets are an up and coming team made up of 4 CDNABA players Mike Neuman, Greg Jette, Brian Jette, and Erik Miller. These 4 players along with manager Bill Neuman have hit the free agent wire and are bringing in 14 new players to the CDMABL. The Mets look to compete for the CDMABL Championship in 2009 and will be opening their season May 16th. On behalf of the CDMABL/CDMSBL we would like to welcome the Mets and wish them luck in 2009 and beyond!
