2008 AWARDS: SHOOK TAKES HOME THREE!!
The voting for the 2008 Awards took place at the last managers meeting on February 25th. The Award we as follows:
MVP: Jim Shook (Bobcats)
- Shook dominated the league in 2008 going 6-1 and the only loss being to a no-hitter. Shook's line was amazing 6 W (2nd in the league), 42 IP (2nd in the league), 70 K's (1st in the league), 12 BB's, and a 2.67 ERA. Shook was lights out in the play-offs as well, taking home the 2008 Playoff's MVP as well. It is the first time a player has won both the MVP and Cy Young in the same season. His Playoff MVP gives Shook a record, three league awards in one season. Congratulations Jim!

Player of the year: (TIE) Josh Kean (Canes) and Mark LeMorta (Canes)
- Kean made his presence felt again in the NABA in 2008. Kean hit in the middle of the Canes line up hitting .489 (3rd in the league), with 13 singles, 6 doubles, 3 Homerun (3rd in the league), and 26 RBI"s (2nd in the league). Kean hit .571 in the playoff's and played a solid infield all season. Congratulations Josh!!
- LeMorta had a career year in 2008 hitting .523 (2nd in the league), with 18 singles, 4 doubles, 1 homerun, 22 runs scored (1st in the league), and 20 RBI's (5th in the league). LeMorta hit .667 in the playoffs with 1 homerun and pitched a little over 3 innings on making way to 1 run and striking out 4. Congratulations Mark!!
Rookie of the Year: Cullen Vumbaco (X-tribe)
- Vumbaco made a name for him self in 2008 hitting .429 (5th in the league) with, 21 singles, 3 doubles, 12 RBI's, and 18 stolen bases (2nd in the league). Vumbaco was a solid lead off hitter to the X-tribe and played a solid OF all year. Congratulations Cullen
Congratulations to all the player who have received awards, they will be presented at the 2009 All-star game.
