2011-2012 wrap-up

The Icehawks are regular season, upper division champions of POWHA - playoffs coming up soon in Pittsburgh!  The 'Hawks easily led the league in fewest goals allowed.  Unfortunately the 'Hawks lost in the semifinals at the POWHA championships, before rebounding to take 3rd place in the consolation game.

The Raptors were house league champions, ending the Eagles two year reign. 

 A special thanks goes to Laura S. for jumping into league play as a goalie with all of two practices under her belt.   We plan to have goalie training this summer for anyone interested - there are at least two more candidates in the mix for next season.

 We'll get summer clinic and pick-up information posted as soon as we have it.

 Cleveland Hts offers three hockey opportunities for women: 

 skills/beginner clinic, house league, and 2 travel teams.

No travel, no practices, no BS, just games!  The house league is underway - with the Griffins knocking off the defending champion Eagles in the first game of the season. 

Dates:  Oct 2011 - March 2012
Times:  mostly Wed 8:30 PM, a few Sat

Travel Teams:   both travel teams play in the Penn-Ohio Womens Hockey Association (POWHA).  Schedules are already posted.

The Cleveland Heights Adult Beginning Hockey Clinic is for adults who
never played ice hockey before, or played as kids and would like to
start again. Some basic skating ability is helpful but not required.
Classes typically consist of about 45 minutes of skating and skills
instruction with longtime player and coach Pat Bauman, and 15 minutes
of scrimmaging (if there are enough players). Heights offers three to
four 10-week sessions per year.  Starts mid Sept on Sunday nights at
8:30PM.  $12/session
