Flagship Cup Tournament The U11 and U14 Boys, plus the U11, U14, U16, and U17 Girls all recently participated in the Flagship Cup in Erie PA. The tournament, as always, was well run and everything went smoothly. The U11, and U14 Boys, and the U14, U16, and U17 Girls all U16 advanced into the semi-final stage of the competition. The heat and lack of subs played its toll and three teams advanced into the final stages of the tournament. The U14 Boys ended up as overall runner-up while the U14 and U17 Girls came out as the eventual champions. The six teams played extremely well and the players and families had a most enjoyable weekend.

Sunday, November 25 Sunday 25th Match Reviews The New U11/12 Coed Team did very well today in a most competitive match that, unfortunately, after a great deal of good attacking play we ended up losing 6-5. Alyssa, Lauren, and Brianna all scored a goal each while Garrett had a brace of goals. Hopefully, we can continue to add quality players to the team so we can play 11V11 when we go outside in the spring. The U17 Girls’ Black Team continued their unbeaten season with a convincing early morning 4-0 victory. With Laura Arnold in the nets the girls looked totally invincible as they built out of the back playing a most confident style of soccer. Well deserved goals came from Cassie Kiplinger, Kristen Profeta, Ardyn Olszko, and Dee-Dee Fekete. An excellent solid performance by the girls ensured a well earned victory. Next weekend the U17 team will be in Raleigh so it was important they played well-and they did. The U18 Girls with five players still to come back from high school struggled at times to find their rhythm; however, they were eventually able to do so and also scored four goals in an exciting 4-3 victory. Sam Robertson scored two beautiful goals, one with her left and one with her right to put the Cobras up 2-1 in a well contested game. The game was end-to-end and the score-line fluctuated with the dominant play. The opposition eventually succumbed to our pressure and we came out 4-3 victors. Additional goals by Ardyn Olszko and Danielle Dobies secured the victory for the Cobras. The U16 Red Team held on to a 0-0 score-line with a well played game. They had Emily Moran in nets for the first half and the Cobra defenders were really in their comfort zone knowing Emily was behind them to tidy up any mistakes they might make. However, when Emily had to leave for ODP at half time things got a tad scary. Not to worry, up stepped Candace Smalley and Robin Tkacz who both took turns in playing in nets. The two keepers did a great job and the 16 Reds played a tremendous game; working so hard to make sure the opposition did not score. The 16 Black Team, without a ‘true’ goalie for the entire match pulled off a 2-1 victory against a much older team. Robin Tkacz went in nets again, this time for the whole game, and played an admirable game. Leigha Kalo scored the opening goal and the Cobras took the lead into half time. The second half proved to be tough as the opposition mounted the pressure and eventually equalized. The 16’s kept plugging away and eventually sealed the win with an absolutely stunning shot by Marissa Longo from a good 20 yards out. Both the U16 teams played incredibly well considering we were missing so many players owing to Thanksgiving vacations. Saturday, November 24 Saturday 24th Match Reviews The U14 Boys are continuing on their great run with another outstanding victory on Saturday morning. The team included new players Jeff Zidonis in attack and Seth Klein in midfield. The new lads slotted in beautifully well and the Cobras eased their way to a 5-1 victory. Goals came from Uta Meda, Seth Klein, Nicky Rossan, Tucker White, and Kevin Gleeson. Alex Wallsachs and Uta Meda both hit the woodwork with thunderous shots that had the keeper totally beaten. Although missing a number of players owing to basketball, the U14 Cobra boys did not miss a beat this weekend. The U14 Girls made tough work out of their game and went down 0-2 in the first half with ineffective defending all across the pitch. However, following a few direct comments at half time, the girls came out and scored three cracking goals in the second half. Hayleigh Shingary latched perfectly well onto a long through ball by Pup Pugliese to snag the first goal. Sierra Thomas, after earlier hitting both the crossbar and the post, went on the hammer home the equalizer and the Cobras were totally back in the game. After some excellent combination play, Sydney Thomas scored a lovely goal to give the Cobras a well deserved 3-2 lead; however, victory was not to be ours as the opposition scored an equalizer right at the death. A good second half performance was enjoyed by all. The U8/9 Coeds to quote Coach Rich, “Were absolutely amazing today” as they romped their way to another big victory. Today’s unfortunate opposition ended up being beaten by the hungry little Cobras 8-0, with goals coming from: Suzanne Ford with a hat-trick plus one-4 goals, Sara Oddo 1, Sophie Matts 1, Gianna Gaspar 1, and Ariel Benya 1. This truly is a fun team to coach and is obviously another great Cobra team in the making. The U10/11 Coeds are the newest Cobras on the block and they certainly did not want to get left behind on this day for high scoring little Cobra folks! Although many members of the team are new to the Cobras, they certainly played like seasoned veterans as they were able to put together a resounding 9-2 victory! The goals came from various positions and from many players with Brianna Shingary, Isabel Sentle, Suzanne Ford, and Tori Colacicco all scoring one goal each. Kyle Ardai had a brace of goals (2) and the seasoned veteran Michael Hradesky had a hat-trick (3). Today, the U10/11 Coeds made a welcomed entrance into 'Cobra World' and created lots of entertainment for the parents and coaching staff. Congratulations to Suzanne Ford who had a wonderful total of five goals today!Sunday, November 11 U16 Girls' Sunday, November 11th Result
The U16 Girls got off to a fabulous start to the indoor season today with a rousing 9-1 victory in the high school age group division. Considering we had eight new players it did not take too long for the players to become familiar with their team-mates' style of play, and it was not long before the Cobras took an early lead. As the play developed it became evident the Cobras were the stronger team and by half time we had a 4-0 lead. Emily Moran played a great game in nets and constantly started the attacks from the back. The Cobra girls continued to press forward which resulted in another five goals in the second half. Congratulations to Robin Hames and Leigha Kalo from the ‘old’ Cobras who both had a goal each, while debutants Katherine Lipp, Sunny Dalieh, and Brittany Hirsch each scored a goal also. Congratulations to Taylor Vidouc who scored four goals, a hat-trick plus one, in what was a fun game to coach and watch. Saturday, November 10 Saturday, November 10 Games Review On our first Saturday of league soccer we played four games; scored 27 goals and conceded 10. We had two wins, one tie, and one loss. We had at least three hat-tricks, one from Haileigh Shingary U14 Girls, Lauren Hradesky U8/9 coeds and Sara Oddo from the U8/9 coeds. The Coeds, the youngest team ever to grace the field wearing a Cobra uniform won their game most convincingly with an overwhelmingly victory scoring 16 goals and not conceding any. There were certainly many future Cobra stars playing on that little team today. The U14 Girls also had a convincing win with a score line of 5-1. The girls controlled the game from the start and never really looked to be in any bother. Their counterparts, the U14 lads tied their game 5-5. The Cobras appeared to be in control of the game going in to the half with a 4-1 lead; however, the lead slipped away and the game ended up tied 5-5. The only loss of the day was with the U11 coeds. They lost 4-1; however, the score does not reflect the closeness of the game. After the Cobras missed numerous opportunities to tie the game at 2-2 the opposition scored twice in the last minute to seal the game. All-in-all we had an enjoyable first Saturday with lots of entertaining soccer on display for all to see. I was particularly pleased with the influx of new players to the Cobra program. They played well and it will not be too long before they feel totally comfortable in their new environment and their presence will begin to enhance their respective teams’ play. Thanks for a fun day.
U17 Girls Win in Kalamazoo 2007 CONGRATULATIONS to our U17 Girls team for recently winning the Kalamazoo Invitational Soccer Tournament in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This team featured some of our talented U16 & U17 players. Tremendous accomplishment! Congratulations to all the players, families, Director/Coach Sean McNamara & the team managers (Dave Young, Paul Insana and Kim Koytinski) for all their hard work & efforts! Tuesday, June 19 U17 Boys Runners Up at Virginian 2007
Congratulations to the U17 boys team for another fantastic performance over the Memorial Day weekend, as they traveled back to Virgina to defend their 2006 Championship. This year a combination of our best U16 and U17 boys combined their talents on the pitch as they competited in the Gold Bracket (2nd highest bracket in the tournament) to win their first four matches and advance to the finals for the 2nd straight year! The boys jumped out to a convincing 5-0 win over Pysa Toros FC (NY) in their first match, then went on with successful wins over Arlington Ambush (VA), and Wyckoff Torpedoes (NJ) to win their bracket out-right. In the semi-final match, the boys went on to win their 4th match vs SYC Raiders (VA) before coming-up short against Footshills Titans (PA) in the championship. The boys played extremely well throughout the entire weekend; and even found some down-time to travel by rail to Washington DC to watch MLS power-houses DC United vs Houston Dynamos play their league match. Congratulations to all the boys, their families, team manager Gretchen Petty and coach Rich Hyland for a job well done!

Christie in the Big Ten 2006 Hoosiers Garner Three All-Conference Nods Nov. 2, 2006 Not only did Christie play in every game, she made an immediate impact on the team scoring four goals. Indiana coach Mick Lyon referred to Christie as One of the best incoming freshmen ever. In her first year playing at the Top Ten level, Christie attained these remarkable achievements:
U10 Coeds Autumn Finale 2006 The U10 Cobra Coed ended their first season together with a fabulous showing at the Season Finale in Lodi. Although the boys and girls did not advance, they certainly played very well and were a pleasure to coach. The inaugural season for this team also went extraordinarily well. The team gelled together quickly, trained hard, and soon became a force to be reckoned with throughout the league. We even had a new club record set with this team. Brianna Shingary scored a hat-trick in less than three minutes with a remarkable exhibition of her phenomenal goal scoring prowess. She was well assisted by her new team mates in attaining such a remarkable feat. We have a great group of young players and they all bring their own dynamism to the team. I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching the players over the autumn season and certainly intend to be their primary coach for the indoor seasons. Unfortunately, Dustin has broken his collar bone and we missed him and his defending skills at the tournament. He will be out for a few weeks and then will be back with us again.
We are still looking for new U10 and U11s to join the team as we eventually would like to have two teams, boys and girls, in these age groups. So, if you are just checking our web page out and have a U10 or a U11 give us a call at 440-449-9394.

The boys will have an opportunity to travel to Milan, and Venice to view the countryside while they prepare for their tournament matches. The boys started their international experience on the right foot by defeating, Chievo Verone and Vincenza in two "friendly-matches". Region II has arranged for the team to watch a few international matches during their stay. Tournament teams they will face beginning on Saturday, April 15th are Cossatese (Italy), Arminia Bielefeld (Germany), Biellese (Italy), Lazio (Italy). This is Kyle's 4th International appearance in the last two years, as he has represented his country during events held in England, Mexico, Bolivia, and now Italy. We're very proud of his accomplishments, as he continues to work hard to develop himself in to the best player he can be. Well done Ky!!! CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Aaron Adkins from our U15 & U16 Boys team for earning his first roster position on the ODP State team. The State team will be traveling to Germany the last part of March and beginning of April to train, compete against German club teams, and enjoy some of the pre-world cup sites! Aaron was a member of the Alliance Select team for 2 years. He is a very talented forward with a special ability to "finish" scoring opportunities for the club. We're VERY proud of his accomplishments as he continues to excel at all levels; as he has worked very hard both on & off the pitch (year-round) to develope into a quality player. Well done, Aaron!!!
