2011-2012 Roster Announced

Parma, Ohio: The Cleveland Barons Hockey Club today announced that Midget Major U-18 players Josh Nenadal and Matt Rudin were drafted yesterday in the 2011 USHL Entry Draft. The USHL is the only tier 1 Junior Hockey League in the United States. The USHL last year sent over 200 players to division 1 college hockey.

Josh Nenadal, 5’9”, Right Wing was taken by the Waterloo Blackhawks with the 5th pick in the 7th round. Last season Josh had 17 goals, 15 assists for 32 points in 40 games. He is a junior at Brecksville High School and has been a member of the Cleveland Barons development program for the last 6 years.

Matt Rudin, 5’11”, Right Wing was taken by the Youngstown Phantoms with the 3rd pick in the 18th round. Last season Matt had 19 goals, 16 assists for 35 points in 40 games. He is a sophomore at Nordonia High School and has been a member of the Cleveland Barons development program for the last 8 years.

These two players join fellow teammates Alex Okicki and Liam McDermott who were previously drafted and tendered.

Alex Okicki, 6’1”, 175, Goalie was signed to a tender for the 2011-2012 season by the Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings of the North American Hockey League. Last season for the Barons Alex had a 91.2 save percentage and a 2.66 goals against average. He is a senior at Lake Catholic High School and has been a member of the Cleveland Barons development program for the last 9 years.

Liam McDermott, 6’2”, 180, Center was drafted by the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL in the 6th round of the 2010 Futures Draft. Last season the Barons Center Ice Man had 7 goals, 20 assists for 27 points in 40 games. He is a sophomore at Shaker Heights High School and has been a member of the Cleveland Barons development program for the last 7 years.
