Clevehill Baseball: 50 Years of Fun
Cleveland Hill Baseball has been part of the community fabric for the past fifty years. During those fifty years many Moms, Dads, Aunts, Uncles and Good Citizens have stepped forward and given time and expertise so the children of our community could step to the plate and play ball. There is something special about a warm summer evening with the smell of hot dogs cooking and crowds cheering that can bring back memories for all of us young and old alike. There is no greater reward than watching young children playing a sport for the love of the game and knowing that life long friendships and memories are being made. So when the national anthem is played and the umpire yells play ball may many warm memories flood back to us all.

You go Girl......
Michelle (Gottmann) Whalen sent this picture and her story. Michelle is sporting the plaid pants. Here is her story...
In 1976 when I was 8, I wanted to play baseball but there were no leagues for girls that age at that time. My father took me up to sign up for boys' baseball and he was told that girls were not allowed in the league. He asked them to find it in the rules that the league was only for boys. They could not. Therefore, they put me on the B Phillies (my brother was on the A's) and I was the first girl to play Cleve-Hill Baseball. I played B's, A's, and Majors and also was the first girl to make the All-stars in Cheektowaga. In the years following, I convinced some of my girlfriends to join. I moved on to girls' softball at Cleve-Hill in my teens.
